I mean if we are looking for a number 8/lock type I don't fully care about what they are like over the ball. If we need more breakdown options then we need someone behind Reffell rather than with. You just need one main ball threat in the pack, as long as the rest of the pack can clear out the ruck...

Munster’s Gavin Coombes is out of contract in 2025. Plays 8 or 6 and can cover lock, a bit like Hatherall. Could he be worth it? What's he like over the ball? We need more breakdown threat across the pack. Our defence is not excellent when we can target the breakdown, slow the opposition down then ...

Would like to see Woodward has to offer. Give the lad a few games to show what he has got. I'd rather we introduced him into a settled side rather than a make shift team. It's hard to predict the starting line up when we don't know whether any of Heyes, Martin, Reffell, Bassett, Porter and Liebenbu...

I think if the club have any more signings ready they really could do with rolling them out soon. Most especially an attack coach announcement for next year... The club needs to get ahead of some of the negativity and give the fans a shot in the arm and a boost. I would like the club to publicly se...

11.9 for 100m? That's slow. International wingers are under 11, some closer to 10.5. He wouldn't have made the 1960s Welsh team with that speed. Might be a typo TBH. 10.5 with boots on, in winter and on a grass field? I think that is optimistic - Bryan Habana's best time on a track was 10.4 by all ...

If it's a knee injury then George has had no luck with those so far in his career.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I have often posted that Tigers lack genuine pace and a ball carrying threat. I thought we solved that issue signing OHC and Watson not to mention Wiese. Strikes me that OHC as has been widely muted is a different player from when he was at Irish, Watson is still long term injured and Wiese is off....

For me personally I think if someone came in for pollard I’d let him go, I don’t think he’s a club player I think like a lot of the South African he’s only really bothered about the springboks look at the number of them that have gone to Ireland and France and aldi not really done anything. I thoug...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I always think on the big players you want them settled down. So on Pollard (presuming his contract finishes 2025) as soon as the season finishes I'd have two offers for him. 1) A contract extension for a further two seasons (to end in 2027) on good terms. 2) A transfer to a SA franchise. Basically...

[ quote=Tigersunited post_id=881794 time=1713642190 user_id=9987] What a massive excuse that is - do you really think he wasn’t given the option of an experienced Attack coach - he was and chose Matt Smith. We are going no where but backwards under DM - I fear for next season if he is in charge. It...

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

Stop the experiment of playing an international quality fullback.on the wing and an international winger at 12. Ideally get Kelly back to 12. We did miss Reffell when he went off but Cracknell although a different style of player was not too bad. Our discipline was awful and that has to.improve. Cr...

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

None of them are sound business nor is Watson I think Hatherall is a good player and Rogerson is a good squad player. Cracknell as an option at 8 might be fine. It's just none are the type of 7 we need. The whining over Watson is tiresome. As his contract with us didn't start until Nov/Dec time the...

Wow there's a surprise. I know he bugged up the short period his family lived in Ireland but there was always going to be an element of lining his pocket (not that I blame him).

Re: Leinster funding

And, indeed, the schools themselves. It's worth noting that private schools in Ireland are a fraction of the cost of private schools in the UK. The Irish government offer subsidiaries to keep the fees low so you can attend for around £3k a year compared to roughly £13k if you are looking at a priva...
