Re: Wasps are not welcome in Coventry

This post was originally in response to an article indicating that the Coventry folk were not very warming to Wasps pitching up on their doorstep. This has now diversed into trashing other teams. We would welcome all fans from any club to attend games against Tigers and do not want them to feel unc...

Re: Freddie Steward and Ellis Genge - The Good, The Bad and The Rugby

Freddie comes across well on there. Ellis was a bit quiet after his Covid bout. Hopefully he's fit and firing ready for the weekend. Cole was on the Marler podcast the other day and the grumpy pair give Freddie as good as an endorsement as they'd probably be happy to give a back, particularly a youn...

Re: Tigers on loan 21/22

Honestly odd given we have a Prop at 6 but I guess depends on how serious the injury might have been etc. Odd that he played for Doncaster the previous week it appears. That was his first appearance of the season post injury, probably decided it was better he play for his loan club than us He might...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Dan Kelly signed a new deal as recently as March. Hopefully we put a few years down for him to sign up to. Buys us some time before renewal at least. Some of the quality young guys will be looking at a real step up in their next contract, we may have to sacrifice some of the older guys in order to p...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Hope not. Big chunk of salary cap gone for an average player. I'm not sold that he is the answer to what we need at flyhalf but he definitely not an average player. He's a world cup winner whose introduction took the final away from us 6 months ago. I think he's got more to his game than he's shown...

Re: Premiership Round 9 - 2021/22

The value of Malins and Earl to Bristol last season is there for all to see, given how bad they are this season. Radrada being injured hasn't helped either but I think we saw towards the end of last season Lam's attack at Bristol had started to get predictable. Now minus some of the their bigger na...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Sarries makes sense to me: more money, move nearer to Twickenham, as well coached as any team, as good if not even better chance of winning things with them! Why do you assume more money? They can't make him a marquee player and have to play by the rules financially speaking so we should be able to...

Used to play with an old scrum half who used to practice that in every warm up. Don't think he ever pulled it off though.

Have you considered that in an age of of social media BT want interesting and sometimes a little controversial content? They want people clicking on their various social media accounts to discuss the game and the things highlighted by the presenters. Austin is very good at finding talking points eve...

Re: Premiership Round 9 - 2021/22

Ben Earl definitely one of THE most annoying players in the premiership currently. Can't stand McGuigan myself! What was his red card for? Sale held up over the line, Tompkins pushes McGuigan's leg out the way so he can get up then pats him on the head and gives some smirking comments. Sale have pe...

According to my daughter who is in Newcastle.. Freddie Steward was there this morning!
Weekend off and of an age when he'll have mates at University. Unlucky weekend to pick for a visit what with the storm but it won't have stopped the locals heading to the pubs and restaurants.

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

Who knows. With Cockers an Jones in the coaching line up there may well be a temptation to go with a smaller hooker. Eddie has tended towards bigger hookers. Blamire is certainly not a small lad. LCD and George almost prop size. I think Eddie intended to give George time to work on his Sarries form...

Re: Next Number 10 ?

What about Malins? No idea if contract status, but he certainly originally emerged as a FH. EQP friendly, covers WG and FB (pertinent if we are losing Kobus?) and a hell of a player. Would expect to lose him to England, but I think we’re fairly well stacked with Burns, Heggarty and Lancaster. His s...

I don’t get why people think our game plan will be that different?
Agreed. Pollard is able to play far more ball in hand than he does for the Boks.

My only concern for him would be his prior injuries, he's had a couple of nasty ones.
