Re: If Sarries hadnt been relegated ?

Theoretically speaking, if Saracens hadn't been found guilty I would argue this season had the grounds to be written off like the Women's league so relegation or promotion would have been unlikely. Spot on JP14, the Saracens situation as well as the Falcons winning the championship at a canter mean...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Sad news about Guy, but hard to argue with the club decision. Rugby paper have stated Moriarty is staying at dragons so won't be him joining, which I am relieved about as didn't seem value for money. With Guy and kalamafoni off we are losing more depth at 8, our signings in back row with Geordie ha...

Re: Sir Eddie of Jones re-signs until 2023

You can't fail to do well with the players that England possess. No doubting that Jones is a very good coach but I thought that selecting Mako for the World Cup Final lacked bottle, IMVHO. Lancaster had a great selection of players to choose from and didn't get out of the group. Jones has regularly...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021

Done very little wrong? He was 2 botched Beale kicks away from losing the series to a poor Oz team and drew one v a NZ team thanks to Barretts awful kicking,SBW red card and a terrible refereeing decision with Owen's blatant offside. The Lions praise for me is way OTT! To be fair we only lost the s...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021

Here are the Scotland players that are likely for selection in my view: I would say Hogg Johnson McInally (My candidate for a midweek captain) Russell Sutherland Maybe one of Graham, Maitland and Kinghorn too. I'd hope Hamish Watson goes. For me he's the best openside in the home nations. Great ove...

Re: Ealing threatening legal action

I've heard the premiership are going to just have the playoffs containing the current top 4,fair? IMO yes extraordinary circumstances require extraordinary measures . Play offs would therefore be Exeter v Saints and Sale v Bristol, which I don’t think anyone could disagree with given performances t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I want to see the Tuilagi/Taute combination fielded again. Nadalo at 12? Maybe for the international breaks but personally he’s best on the wing. Taute at 12 makes sense as I think the majority of his pace went with that bad knee injury at Munster. He does all the hard graft and the leads the defen...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

a big powerful 12 you say? If only we had within our squad a big powerful international centre with lots of experience of playing both 12 and 13 in Test matches. Maybe we already have the answer here and just need a pacier 13 to play outside Manu... Really don't like Manu at 12. Just seems a waste ...

https://www.ultimaterugby.com/news/the-incredible-list-of-talented-players-whose-top-14-contracts-are-expiring-at-the-end-of-the-season/626279 Interesting read about players out of contract in France would be interested in a few like Alex Dunbar as a hard hitting 12, Kini Murimurivalu, Tolu Latu an...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Carl Fearns apparently available for next season, he’s a nasty 8 with a point to prove. Odd that he's moving back. He has said several times he's happy and settled in France. He's not called by England and has been there long enough to qualify so shouldn't be a problem under the new squad rules in ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I still think we have a huge void at 12, Eastmond and Reid are decent benchers but not the physical playmaker we need to compete at the top level to either go themselves or cleverly distribute or to shore up the defence in that channel. The pack are looking very good! Totally agree. Historically we...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

If we can keep Batley then we have two locks who can slot into the backrow. Some sort of dual registration deals for Boladau and Coghlan could be a good idea for both us and Nottingham. Give us access to two experienced backrows when we need them but they can stay match fit at Notts and Notts who wi...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

You are aware that not every business has a lot of money in the bank, aren't you? Particularly the hospitality businesses that are suffering at the moment. Even many "wealthy" people don't have a lot of cash in the bank. Let's take the Wetherspoons example. Published £58m profits recently. Pre tax....

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

My issue is the flat 25%, yes it is in theory fair, but 25% of not a lot isn't great. Not all of Tigers Employees earn marque salaries. There is no simple answer to this, but I do think the RPA aren't being terribly bright about this. One thing this does show is the vulnerability of being effective...
