Re: Wales 1st in the World?

I thought it was a load of rubbish from both sides, neither can win the World Cup playing like that in my opinion. You could learn the Haka in the amount of time it took to complete scrums in that match. I thought both sides and the officials were poor to be honest. England seemed to have lost thei...

Is this significant?

Thats the same kit the Academy has been wearing for a few seasons now
The thing about those shirts is that if they just stick the first team sponsors on then they'd sell very well.

Hopefully our kit is better than the Wasps kit!

The huge Vodafone logo clashes nicely doesn't it. If you changed the yellow decals on the sleeves to red it would pass for a Sarries shirt.

What’s happened with Wilson?
He must have a niggle. Be surprised if the plan was to have a hooker cover the backrow. I also presume Eddie only wants player from within the 31 included and that's why no backrow cover have been called up.

Re: England v Wales

Will Greenwood has done a player by player breakdown in the DT. He says of Ford; "George Ford (Fly half, Leicester Tigers, 56 caps) Had an indifferent season at Leicester but if England need someone to make flat passes on the gainline then he’s your man. I’d like to see his goal kicking improve by ...

Re: England WC squad

I disagree about Cips legs. Regarding Francis, whether you like the player or not with about four caps to his name amongst this team it's not ideal to be expecting anyone to be that flexible and do it successfully in a World Cup. I think Cipriani's misdemeanours plus his poor points kicking stats (...

Re: England WC squad

Francis is a better player than what people have credited him for? And who would have replaced him if Te’o hadn’t had a scrap? Cipriani, a player who no longer has the legs to cover fullback so is just a flyhalf. Piers’ flexibility is a crucial aspect of this squad as it allows Jones to rotate seve...

Re: World Cup players

Its always a combination of factors which btw doesn't include the myth about the lack of pre-season (England manage to put a squad together in ridiculously short spaces of time with good success). The same England squad that have mid season training camps, summer tours designed to integrate the squ...

Re: World Cup players

No defined coaching structure or plan so that for an entire season we were trying to play catch up. MOC deserved to be sacked but sacking him after a game left as many problems as fixes. Where are our England internationals? None of them wearing numbers 4-8 which is where we were weak last season. S...

Re: England v Wales

I reckon Eddie will be disappointed with Ellis giving away pens needlessly, again. His was one of the pens in the sequence that gifted Wales a try that brought them back into contention - and it wasn't the first or only one. Add to that a complete failure to tackle at one of the Welsh breaks in a m...

Re: England v Wales

And I agree fully Sam, that backline does now have more options in attack I was just saying it was a shame for Ruaridh because he’s a terrific player and deserved the cap. As does Marchant on the bench really hope he comes on. Agreed. The idea of a Manu/Marchant second half centre combination is pr...

Re: England v Wales

Let’s hope they win, shame Ruaridh had to pull out with injury Losing Underhill from the forwards was a blow but the adjustments to the backs have helped out the balance. The original line up left Ford with very little strike options now with Joseph running options flat to the gain line and the dem...

Re: England v Wales

Selection of Ludlam in the squad now makes sense. Seems Eddie is considering going with the Underhill & Curry combo in backrow. Will be interesting to see how goes in this game against the much vaunted Welsh backrow. I presume that Eddie has seen we need to be able to contest the breakdown far more...

Roleof Smit has signed for the Lions in South Africa and Tyrese Johnson Fisher is going to be signing for Bristol too according to RIL What happened to TJ's American football contract, He will take some catching on the wing, but his catching of a ball was not good at Oakham School. He got was at co...

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

We are mostly making the same assumption on which side he will play. There's some highlights reels which show his carrying and I don't see that we would have pursued a player for two seasons if we didn't envisage him being a key part of the squad. As Cortes is very limited (set piece and that's abo...
