Re: England win but at what cost to Tigers

I couldn't believe it originally the image of them squaring up was to good to be true, or so it seemed. The clash of the hairy hard men, I'm willing to pay for video footage people! Wonder if the UFC would offer them contracts for a one off re-match?!?

Re: Jordan Crane re-signed according to Merc

Best ball carrying forward in the league and still a young star. A vital signing for Tigers. Gutted Varndell has gone but Crane is as important if not more so.

Re: England win but at what cost to Tigers

A bar brawl with Castro and Chabal, that would be the hairiest and meanist fight ever to hit a bar. If it were only true and someone had videoed it on their phone/security cameras. Lets hope some of the injured players start coming back into the team soon. The covering players have been brilliant bu...

Re: Marco Wentzel leaving

Looks like we'll be relying on Parling and Hemmingway to cover Blaze, Deacon and Kay next season then. All English though which is good to see. Then again we might do a little shopping at the Sarries South African discount store, "thats right people eveything must go!"

Re: Should we sign Haskell?

Hmm something strikes me as odd about Harry's website, the brief history section on the right hand side of the front page has him born on the 3/6/1986 making him 22, 1.91m or 6 foot 3 tall and as a 'backrow' player. Think someones messed it up a bit.

Re: Save Tom Varndell!

Varndell is under contract for another year and we will not terminate his contract because the payoff would count towards next season wage budget. Wasps therefore will have to buy out his contract (with Tigers consent) and then pay TVs hefty wage, I doubt they have the cash to do that or will want t...

Re: Moody pencils in return from injury

Excellent news that Mad Dog will be back with us soon. We can always have a sweepstake on how many games it will take the mentalist to injure himself again.

Re: England XV unchanged for Calcutta Cup match

Glad he's kept the starting line up the same as it would have been harsh to drop anyone after the win over the French. Slightly dissappointed that he's not mixed the bench up a bit with Care and Haskell anything but convincing when they came on against France. Goode was't either but fly half options...

Re: Save Tom Varndell!

Seeing as Tigers have reduced the wage budget already this season with Twelvetrees replacing Rubeni, Duffey replacing Kayser and Parling replacing Corry hopefully they'll be room in the budget to indulge in the best finisher in the league. I can't imagine that we're overstretched budget wise unless ...

Re: Geordan Murphy set to break new 6N record...

Kearney is a good full back but I think he's being overhyped a bit by a the Irish media/fans. He's not close to being in the same league as Murphy was at the height of his powers.

Re: Should we sign Haskell?

Haskell isn't a specialist 8 either and he plays his best rugby at blindside. He'll also be missing for a chunk of the season with England and will cost a small fortune to bring to the club. I'd prefer it if we bought a player who was less mouthy in public, didn't take up so much of the wage budget ...

Re: Injuries Update

Hougaard can play scrum half saw him play there last season at the Bulls, can't remember the opposition or much of the match (it was on late and I'd been down the pub) but he got man of the match so he must have done something right. Harsh on Youngs but we need a kicker on the pitch and Youngs can e...

Murphyslaw I doubt whether many of those will be available where as I believe Biggs is in the last year of his contract. Lemi might be available after Bristol go down though. Can't see us stealing any of the others.

Re: Tigers injuries for Friday

The injuries are a concern but players are starting to return and we are seeing players step up to the plate. This season Cole, Smith, Youngs, Vesty and Pienaar have come in to the team and done sterling work. I have faith these players and any other squad players called upon will perform to the hig...

Re: Latest Rumours - 13/03/09

Cheers Kornboy, how about the rumours of Dave Ellis coming our way at the end of the season. Even the BBC commentators were hinting he'd be in England next year during the France vs Wales game. Would much prefer to keep Varndell then bring in Biggs, on form Varndell is hands down the best winger in ...
