Re: Tigers vs Dragons - Saturday 4th September

I think we could be seeing some dreadful games of kick maul repeat. It’s a stupid law, the kicks are undefendable so there’s no point dropping players back. My bold. How so? Im pretty sure that they've got to bounce in the field of play before going out so a player in the right position should be a...

Re: Tigers vs Dragons - Saturday 4th September

My worry is more rolling maul tries that are hard to defend. I know Baxter says just put more players in to defend the maul and give space for the attack but we will see. That’s my concern. A three phase game. Kick, line out, maul I think we could be seeing some dreadful games of kick maul repeat. ...

Re: 13 team league 21/22

Franchise Rugby on the way. Genuine question - why? Maybe I don’t follow rugby politics/economics closely enough, but I don’t see how this decision leads to franchise rugby. On a related matter - I’m not exactly sure what the term ‘franchise rugby’ really means. It seems to be a term fairly loosely...

Re: 13 team league 21/22

Interesting from 24/25 season clubs must have 15 EQP players and no more 2 foreign player limit. Brexit rules Kolpak etc replacement has been agreed then. relevant bit; "From August 2024, the intention is to move to a position where there is a mandatory England Qualified Players (EQPs) system under...

I’ve predicted a Sale win 😬.
Bristol v Irish is now off!

So that means we cannot finish lower than 8th now regardless of the Wasps result ????
I think so but it’s too early for such calculations

It's a good Bristol team reckon they are fully aware that Chiefs could get a TBP win v Sale.

Very good point. If Sinclair was injured on Thursday why was he on the team sheet on Friday? Nonsense from top to bottom.
it is just nonsense, and its obvious nonsense

Re: Let it lie….

As far as I could see from watching the farce at the end of the match on Sat.. Lam lies (this is clear for all to see when he repeatedly says Afoa is injured and then changes his mind when Tempest says they will be down to 13, and this change of tune is without any additional input from his staff) ...

Re: Let it lie….

So, according to the Guardian, RFU are investigating SB’s behaviour but not Pat Lam’s. If true, this sums up everything that’s wrong with the way the game is overseen. Will Carling was right all those years ago….and it’s clearly still true today that the blazers who run our game are more concerned ...

Lam also claims Afoa decided, himself, to go on to the pitch. From what I see, when Lam is told he's down to 13, he turns to Afoa and gives him a nod and then Afoa gets up and walks on to the pitch.
yep he does

Re: BRISTOL (H) - 5th June 2021

I suspect Lam could find himself in trouble for seeking to claim Afoa was injured and for then suggesting any subsequent injury would be the fault of the ref. He and Tempest should both be in trouble. Tempest said to Lam I am not a medical expert you are the team manager and if you tell me Afoa is ...
