Re: Elitism in Rugby

The most important thing for me, if our club and country are going to be successful at any sport, is to encourage as many kids to play sport and then choose those with the natural attributes you require to focus on. If our talent pool only consists of kids from a selective education background we ar...

Re: Salvi

What we have is two camps of people: Those who blame Cockerill for a lot of faults at the club. AND Those who praise Cockerill for the trphies won etc during his tenure. Then there's a 3rd group of us - a tiny minority, who can see he's pretty great at some bits and pretty pants at others and would...

Best of luck to the lad ... if England do not want him and he has the chance to represent the country where he is living.

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

"The English clubs, however, remain confident that the leading French clubs, as well as the Welsh regions, who declared their support for the Rugby Champions’ Cup last month, will participate in the new tournament, to be broadcast by BT Sport. Premiership Rugby is also prepared to legally chall...

Re: Brailsford on team environments

I have always used the four stages of team development as described by Tuckman when assessing team development; forming, storming, norming and performing. This has always provided me with a basic understanding of where a team is at, where it should be moving to, and the relevant management style nee...

Re: stand up and stop other people see tries being scored

I would describe myself, and family, as casual supporters who follow Rugby, Football and Cricket, attending approximately half a dozen matches of each per season, picking the games which we think will be the most exciting and 'get us out of our seats'. This does not mean that we spend most of the ma...

Re: Ford MUST replace Flood

Thought Flood did OK, not great but OK, akin to most backs for the last few seasons.

I can't help but think that the under performance of our back play and individuals is more a sign of another problem, the coaching.

Re: Is it time to thank Cockers for his efforts? - Part 2

My opinion, for what it is worth. When RC took over he inherited a team and coached / managed them to commendable results. However over the seasons we have at best stayed at the same level, when others and the game have moved on. It is staggering to see the improvement in Ulster, Northampton, Sarace...

My crystal ball has Perpignan qualifying with the 2nd best record and us with the best runners up record.

What happens then, I presume we would not face another trip to Perpignan?

Re: Manu to be deported?

So it would be easier to get a visa if he wanted to play for Samoa as opposed to England.

That makes sense.
