Re: Do they read this forum

Only £120k a year? And I thought poverty in the UK was a thing of the past! As pointed out, most will be on less than this. Some considerably less. And they have to pay tax too? I'm glad I don't have to pay tax... oh wait, I do. Except I probably pay a lot more tax because i don't get paid for imag...

Re: Do they read this forum

Read that average premiership player, is on around £120k a year, but after tax, and saving for the future probably more like half that, which ok is comfortable for a short period of time. I would imagine that a Division 2 footballer is earning more than that That's about average. The median would b...

Re: Do they read this forum

If i have a bad day at the workplace, I get a rollicking. I do.it again I get a sit down, again a verbal warning and so on.... My colleagues will tell me I have fluffed up, so will my customers. I take it on the chin. I don't get paid mega bucks, have the backing of a physio when my back.is sore or...

It would free up room for us to bring a backs/attack coach in.

Ex- Tiger Daryl Gibson is a free agent at the moment too.
Why did he leave Watarahs so abruptly? It seems to be because they were encountering some difficult times - if that is the case I'm not sure WR is currently the place for him.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

This from BBC Sport: How the hell can it be possible, with the squad they have, given they are no longer able to use the shared companies scam? Have their stars taken a massive cut in salary? I have no insider knowledge, but using the facts available, the level of fine is £3 per £1 "in breach" as i...

Wray reminds me of Grouty in Porridge - puts winning above everything else.
You would not want to play cards with Wray; or with anyone who supports his behaviour, of which there seem to be a few commenting in the national press.

Re: Saracens Issue Grounds For Appeal...

Wray's actual defence of 'Investments aren't income' isn't any less ludicrous than any of the ones listed here! From what I've read, he said "investments arent salary ", therefore outside the salary cap. Splitting hairs and trying to get round the salary cap on a technicality. The cap is there to s...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

I'll just chuck a couple of tweets in... Guy Mercer: "For what it’s worth I disagree with the cap. If an owner wants to pay people let them pay. Risk for players is huge & people should earn as much as possible while they can. The cap squeezes the middle out of squads so teams load up on low paid k...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

... pay them well - perhaps in the 200-250k range for a top international, half that for a first teamer? That's good money for running about a paddock, and if they retired in their early thirties they'd be well set up - although they would need to work. And that would allow us to really look after ...

Re: Duty of care

It is a pointless match that no one wants to play in and few want to watch, any player who is seriously injured in this match will feel very aggrieved, I am just glad there are no Tigers players involved. You are aware the match has now finished? Please tell me if I'm wrong but I don't think there ...

Re: Duty of care

Slightly difference - the losing semi-finalist could have been stopped - cuts/KO and be deemed unfit to fight. Rugby is a contact sport not a combat sport. Why play the Autumn internationals, friendlies in the warm ups and so on? Or play any games at all. Some good arguments are being put forward o...

Combat sports at the Olympics award two bronzes exactly for this reason, nobody should risk their health for third place or to protect broadcasting revenues. Judo, taekwondo, and wrestling, also award two bronze medals but these are given to the winners of matches bet...

Re: Wales v SA

My point being that England 9's seem to get replaced after 60 minutes more often than not. Just like other positions. If you’re implying that’s a negative thing then I can tell you it isn’t. No. I was not. I was observing that de Klerk lasted for the full 80 minutes, which I believe is credit to hi...

Re: ITV coverage of WC

I think their coverage has been very good on the whole. Commentators Mullins is always excellent and Harrison is much better without Barnes chirping next to him, good selection of summarisers too though personally could do without Maggie Alphonsi. Slightly annoying thing for me, and I appreciate th...
