Re: 100

If it ain't broken.....

Smoke on the water is a great and powerful rift which is now strongly associated with the Tigers entry to a rugby field. We don't have that many traditions so long may it last together with the Black Eyed Peas anthem when we win :smt023 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041

Re: 2021-2022 Fixtures released

The Friday night game should be interesting with Saracens away to the Bears. It will be a hard test for Saracens.

Also worth noting that we have two weekends without games due to the extra team in the mix.

Re: Mike Ford

I'm sure he will get offers both here in the UK and overseas. I think with SB he was looking to bring in new blood with new ideas and to do that there had to be a parting of the ways. He's a good coach and with others I wish him all the best

After their performance in the semies I have to go for Quins. Also, for the first time I have gone off Rob Baxter a bit :smt009

It's great that the club supports this kind of thing.

Re: A statistical comparison of the last 2 seasons

I appreciate the hard work that went into producing the statistics but I cannot see where a factor was included to allow for matches played in season 19/20 when 75% of our first team were absent due to the world cup or an allowance made for Borthwick selecting non competitive teams as he examined h...

Re: Still stuck in the mud! - Development updates

Good to see that work has started on the construction of the fully glazed wall to the hotel atria facing onto the new public space between the hotel and Tigers. It also looks like the main cladding will comprise of a ventilated screen system faced with large ceramic tiles laid in a brick bond to loo...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns

I believe the cap is on wages. Hence, if a player is on loan another club pays the wages and he doesn't count towards the Tigers cap limit.

Re: Tom Youngs Verdict

SB's call was absolutely correct. Lam lied and tried to pull a fast one changing his mind only after Tempest reminded him they would go down to 13 men with uncontested scrums and Tigers winning the ball. It is a sad day when the RFU hasn't got the necessaries to stand up and deal with the matter :sm...

Re: Developments in NZ

I've certainly read about weight categories in youth rugby in NZ. Some of the Islander children and Maoris develop quicker than others. Many kids in NZ being put off playing as a 12 year old doesn't want to be hit by someone the size of a 16 year old. On the weight issue when I played my weight was...

Re: Developments in NZ

Big boys. Props & Locks presumably! Exactly. One of the big pluses of rugby is that it is a sport suited for all shapes and sizes, particularly at the social game level. Yes, the general population is getting bigger with time and better nutrition is one key factor in the. It has often been said tha...

Apology and the case was closed as per Tempest.

The RFU are pathetic!!
No, they’re only pathetic if they take no action against Pat Lam.
I believe the Lam investigation is a totally separate matter. That said it would be good to have a progress update.

Re: Tom Youngs Verdict

Good to see Tempest's attitude to the event. Clearly he didn't report it so who did?

In the end a gentle tap on the wrist and a 'time served' and 'education' approach.
