Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Marchant had been speaking to Sarries as he was pretty keen to go back to London, which was the same as Sam Spink who has now signed with Sarries. To be fair, Tom Whiteley commutes up from North London every day so it can be done if he is prepared to do so. Complete aside - do many of the current T...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
The best team in the day won. There were refereeing errors but aren't there always?. Personally I think we need to get our best fullback playing at fullback, Kata for me is a great player but he is not a distributor and is not our best 12. Obviously I don't know who is fit and available but I think...

No question Tigers showed spirit and determination, and an increasing number of excellent plays. However they still fail to execute basics for 80 mins. Things like first up tackles, passes that the receiver can take without breaking stride, don't give away needless penalties.... Agree completely. F...

Lots of talk of improved attack. Whilst I agree we look better going forward we still can’t covert inside the 22. We have absolutely butchered 3 or 4 opportunities that could have put us in with a chance.
Defence was shocking, attached still rubbish

Such as Freddie on the wing Hatherell in second row Kelly at 13 They’re all playing in positions they’ve played in before on numerous occasions. That hardly makes them round pegs in square holes. People were pushing for Shilcock at 15 what are you going to do with Steward drop him completely. Hathe...

Once Tommy went off at WR it was game over.
Few round pegs in square holes in that starting XV.

Still don't understand Kelly at 13. Simply hasn't worked.
Assuming Scott is fit would have liked to have seen
12: Keely
13: Scott
14: Kata
As something a bit different to what we've already tried multiple times this season and hasn't really worked.

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45
That result doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. Yes, we can still make top 4, but if we can't beat a fairly average Glouc team at home who did nothing more impressive than walk through a few half-hearted tackles, then Sale and Saints away are a pretty scary prospect. Let's not even talk a...

Re: The Rolling Maul Podcast - Special Guests - Latest: George Chuter
Hi all Apologies for lack of updates on here, I’ve regularly failed to stick up some of the guests we’ve had on recently, including Nick Mullins, Charlie Clare and Tom Whiteley. Anyway, as some of you may know, we spoke to Andrea Pinchen this week and the episode is out now. She was very open on a ...

Re: Next seasons season ticket
I'm struggling to work out what exactly the pricing is here. Ive tried to read through the board, but suspect Im not alone in being a little confused. I think for my adult terrace ticket; > I paid £260 last year (I've checked my direct debits) > The same ticket this year is probably £360 +£5 admin ...

Saints have issued an interesting statement saying they have had NO DIRECT CONTACT with any Saudi investor - but what about INDIRECT through a third party???? https://www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/news/club-statement-feb-24 Someone on twitter replied to this saying that's exactly how the Newcastle de...

Re: Saudi Arabia in talks to buy stake in Tigers
The article says they are after naming rights of stadiums or maybe teams rather than ownership, I know the RFU don't bother much with rules anymore, but you cannot have an owner having more than one club. From the article my understanding us they can own up to 19% in all 4 clubs as long as the 19% ...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022
The cynic in me says he's got 2 or 3 years to crack it, and if it fails he can come back and still make the next WC. If he gets selected to a training squad he'll be on £170k a year, probably comparable to what he'd get in rugby for being one of the best. If he makes a full team expect that to go u...
