Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

The BBC article says:

"But last week French teams committed to the current tournament - as long as their English counterparts also did."

So does this mean the French teams are no longer committed to the HC as the English teams aren't?

http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-union/news/12332/8950746/richard-cockerill-believes-england-could-suffer-in-dispute-over-europe Now Cockers is joining in, sounds like he is willing to hold the RFU to ransom over player release unless they back the new competition. Not sure how the players would feel...

I agree but this offer is for away fans, not home fans so surely all it is going to achieve is a higher number of away fans. It isn't an incentive for home fans.

Re: Heineken Cup no nearer a resolution

What if only the scottish and welsh teams join up to the anglo-french competition, what qualifying criteria will they impose? It cant be based on the PRO12 league if not all of the teams in the league have signed up. Seems like it would need all four nations from the PRO12 to join up

I have been to various stadia where the caterers operate a 'pre-pour' and basically get the ale stacked up prior to the whistle, by pouring 4 pints at a time. Surely they know how many pints they get through at half time and could 'pre-pour' say 75% of them beforehand. I know it might slightly impa...

Having spent a season working on the public bars whilst at uni I do have sopme sympathy for the bar staff. i agree that they should have some minimum requirement for working on the bars as they get rammed at half time and that is not the right time to be learning how to pull a pint.

I was amazed when I heard that the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham is not being used for the Olympics. Apparently they are building one in London...! :smt017 Why should the NWC in Nottingham be used for the Olympics? It is not England, GB or the UK that is hosting the 2012 Games, it is Lo...
