Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

All discussions tigers will always eventually end up about Loffreda It is a fair comparison, no? I appreciate it was 16 years ago at this point, but a coach coming in, affected by World Cup year. Purely based on league results - 1999/00 - Dean Richards - Finished 1st - Champions 2003/04 - Dean Rich...

Fairly sure Loffreda wasn’t sacked but returned home of his volition due to family issues. Happy to be corrected That was Meyer, which is what saw Cockers take over initially. Loffreda arrived at Welford Road three months into the season after he led Argentina to the World Cup semi-finals in 2007. ...

Where ever we finish this season I would be amazed if McKellar was sacked before being given time to show what he can do. Success is not an overnight thing, where there is overnight success is usually when the previous incumbent was actually better than thought and impatient Directors lacked the pa...

Aren't the tax rules different in France? I could be wrong but whilst the actual salary might be less, the take home could be more?

On the number 8 thing, Wiese didn't really help today either. If anything we need to stop relying on players like Wiese to pull something crazy out his butt, 9 other teams in this league don't have a Wiese. Need to actually get a system that works with multiple players for once really something hon...

Tigers reverting to the post-Cockers, pre-Borthwick era. Clueless in attack. Close quarters defense good but in the loose, poor. Aimless kicking with little or no kick chase?! The attack coach needs to be sorted, it's all well and good the club getting behind Matt Smith, but anyone with half a rugby...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

If we've let Atkinson go to be able to extend Brown until the end of the season, that's incredibly short sighted.

Leaves us with 2 senior fly halves. Cue one getting injured.

There is far less so called ''Racism'' in Britain than in any other European Country. Knee jerk reactions always follow incidents like this. A lone drunken idiot, and anyone thinking one can eradicate it is living in cloud cuckoo land. So, what? Are you suggesting it should just be ignored because ...

Re: Eddie Jones resigns as Australia coach

Beggars belief that Tigers have repeated the same gamble as they did signing Borthwick. If Mckellar does go Tigers need to sign someone whose tenure is not based upon foundations of sand and the success of the club goes down the toilet when it gives way again. So we shouldn't hire exciting, upcomin...

Hear me out but say if the backline was fit but Kelly got injured would it be worth a try slotting Steward at 12? 9. Youngs 10. Pollard 11. OHC 12. Steward 13. Scott 14. Watson (?) 15. Shillcock Honestly I would rather Woodward and Porter at 12 but I just rate Shillcock that highly he's got that Al...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Underwhelming signings for me. Feel like squad filler. Why Powell and Whiteley when we've Edwards in the wings? Why Williams and Carter when we've L.Chessum? Why Wilkinson and Shilcock when we've Atkinson? At scrum half - I'd expect Edwards spents a fair bit of time down the road at Nottingham this...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Not sure if he meant to do so, but in his piece on Quins' recruitment, Charlie Morgan in the Telegraph has confirmed Keiron Wilkinson is joining Tigers. In Pollard, Atkinson and Wilkinson, that gives us a really good stock of fly halves (plus Shilcock who can play there). On that basis, Steward, Sh...
