Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Hear me out but say if the backline was fit but Kelly got injured would it be worth a try slotting Steward at 12? 9. Youngs 10. Pollard 11. OHC 12. Steward 13. Scott 14. Watson (?) 15. Shillcock Honestly I would rather Woodward and Porter at 12 but I just rate Shillcock that highly he's got that Al...

https://www.theroar.com.au/2023/10/14/the-three-contenders-to-take-over-the-wallabies-if-eddie-jones-walks/ It's the wording of that last sentence... If available, McKellar would be the No.1 Australian target. I don't see him making himself available I'd hope he wouldn't. But whilst I don't think i...

He’s just not that good. One bad match, one game into the season and he's not that good anymore...? :smt017 15. Jamie Shillcock 14. Josh Bassett 13. Guy Porter 12. Dan Kelly 11. Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work

Underwhelming signings for me. Feel like squad filler. Why Powell and Whiteley when we've Edwards in the wings? Why Williams and Carter when we've L.Chessum? Why Wilkinson and Shilcock when we've Atkinson? At scrum half - I'd expect Edwards spents a fair bit of time down the road at Nottingham this...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

Not sure if he meant to do so, but in his piece on Quins' recruitment, Charlie Morgan in the Telegraph has confirmed Keiron Wilkinson is joining Tigers. In Pollard, Atkinson and Wilkinson, that gives us a really good stock of fly halves (plus Shilcock who can play there). On that basis, Steward, Sh...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 Squad and transfers thread part 2: The Lion, the Wig and the Wardrobe

My gut feeling now about Watson is that he is to be paid by England from July until the end of the world cup (ie be clubless) and then will look at signing with a club. I may be wrong, and this might be a stupid idea, but I can see this happening, especially as he has just got married... My gut say...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?

How about a 7s tournament in the summer? There are 10 teams in the league. 2 matches each week. Pick 5 venues around the country. 6th week is a grand final. Play off for top 4, 5 - 8 and a 2 leg match for 9 - 10, or even invite 2 guest teams to play off against these two teams. Exposure for younger ...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

We may be closer to the full cap as it is. We've had a number of significant re-signings this year, and given how quickly they've stepped up to full international honours, I would imagine the bulk of cap space has probably been utilised in this function. Plus aside from a couple of gaps (Back 3 and...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?

Add a stipulation that no player can play more than 1,280 minutes of regular league matches. That's the full length of 16 matches, so in effect, 2 rest days. For every additional 240 minutes of rugby (I.E Internationals or English Rugby Cup) that removes 80 minutes from the regular league matches. ...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?

I think two top leagues of 10 teams works, and probably works quite well. I'd also like to see two up, and two down, but that's just me, and probably isn't practical in the long term. If NH season stays the same, which it should be IMO, there are 39 game weeks. Take 6 for the Six Nations, and 4 for ...

RFU prioritised pomp, ceremony and glamour than the actually management of the game.

Does leave room in the squad, not only for the youngsters to step up but also for McKeller to bring in his own players to the squad too. Really interesting that Watson wasn't on that leaver list. 15. Steward/Shillcock/Brown 14. Watson/Potter/Browning 11. OHC/Basset/Simmons Job done I think for the b...

And yet... ... many involved in Prem Rugby (our Andrea being an exception) still feel the right thing to do is to raise the salary cap by £1.4m after next season. How many clubs will still be alive by the time that comes around? Of course Bristol, Saracens, and others with deep pockets will keep pe...

Re: Worcester’s woes

It goes from bad, to worse. London Irish are at risk of following Worcester Warriors and Wasps into financial meltdown after players and staff failed to receive their salaries for the month of April. The American consortium involved in takeover talks with the Gallagher Premiership club informed all...
