Re: Autumn Internationals - surprise, surprise.....
Given that England want to play Goode as a second receiver, and they want Brown on the pitch, why not play Brown at full back, Goode at 12, and drop Barritt? Then pace is no issue, you clear up what a lot of people are thinking of as our attacking liability, and while you do loose a little in defenc...

Quote: If things don't change, I can see several clubs/regions/whatever you want to call them being in big trouble. Staunton's Replacement
Just kicking an idea out there after his very acceptable showing at the U20's world cup, could Ford be Staunton's replacement? Maybe not even this year, but definitely next? And with such a hot prospect, and the current England no 10, which top level fly half would want to come to us for just one ye...

Re: Back row
If our top three locks are Deacon, Parling and Skivington (when all are fit) we have an almost silly amount of back row fowards Croft Crane Waldrom Slater Mafi Newby Woods And then youngsters like Armes Hemingway Piennar The problem is balance though. If you wanted your best players on the pitch you...

Re: Can we win europe again?
We lost away, by seven points to the tournement favourites. Had we not got that draw against Perpignan earlier we very easily could still be in. Leinster and Perp beat us, Toulouse and Biarittz would be very difficult, but i'd put us in the top 5 teams of the tournement. And thats with us not playin...

Re: Today's Game - Tigers v Leinster LIVE DISCUSSION HERE
Before the match someone did a individual match up. Maybe slightly biased but after the match i've got to say I didnt think Leinster won many match ups convincingly. Naceawa out played Hamilton, and i'd say Redden out played BY. Apart from that the amazing and world class Leinster backs were broadly...

Yes, for backs replacements out of the three we only have 1 person with full international caps, and another with A team caps. What is it coming to if we can only draw on such poor resources!!

Re: Good article about Wilkinson and Flood
I do realise this is in the past, but hasnt this been tried before on the premiership scene, and found to be pretty shocking? When you've got centres like Allen, Barrit, even 12T all of whom can take the ball to the line why would you then pick someone who's most potent weapon is his (admitadly very...

Medical changes
At the end of the 6 nations im not sure there was a single game out of the 15 where the scrums were reffed adequetly. Compare and contrast to scrums of twenty or ten years ago... What actual medical (ie not for flow of game, or better spectacle ect) reasons were there for changing it? And if there a...

Re: Has Ben learned from Grindal
The obvious plan was to attack down the outside centre channel instead (with Foden joining the line there), in the belief that if the Scots were all lurking around the breakdown then they'd be undermanned out wide. Which, in the second half seemed to work at times, and we made some significant grou...

Re: And that's what happens when you don't give players a go
How about pick the first guy, but don't be afraid to sustitute him if he's not performing (or gets injured)? That way, you get the benefit of the first guy's experience and ability PLUS you get to develop an emerging talent who will (or would have been) around for years to come, long after the firs...

Re: And that's what happens when you don't give players a go
I feel really sorry for Staunton during this. Imagine in your squad you have a person who can play in a position on the pitch. This person has played internationally there, and currently has a win ratio decidedly on the positive side, particularly in recent weeks. Then the only two other people who ...

I want younger players to be played
At the start of the year I was shocked to read so many people complaining about the lack of game time given to youngsters in what is a hyper-competitive premiership, where if you miss out on one or two games that can be your season over. Now when youngsters are given a chance its an embarressment to...
