Re: Borthwick

A number of the new signings spoke highly of GM and during talks about joining, his vision for the club going forward was something to buy into. Seems he has the vision, but lacks the coaching ability to execute it. Borthwick has a reputation for attention to game detail and technical skills. Seems ...

Re: London Irish vs Tigers

Not had chance to watch much this season, but from what I ready it just sounds like more of the same from last season, but without the buffer of Newcastle to save us. Even with a 35 point deduction, Sarries will still finish above us. Been some squad shuffling, I actually think we’re stronger as a s...

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi

Daly, Watson, Tuilagi, Farrell, May, Ford, Youngs, B Vunipola, Underhill, Curry, Lawes, Itoje, Sinckler, George, M Vunipola. Cowan-Dickie, Marler, Cole, Kruis, Wilson, Heinz, Slade, Joseph. So, Ford back in, Farrell and Tuilagi move out one. Wilson replacing Ludlam on bench. Odd decision to go with ...

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi

We may not have the individual skills of the All Blacks, but I do feel we have the all round physical intensity to take them out of their stride in a way others perhaps don’t.

Re: Premiership Round 1 - Worcester vs Tigers

May, Holmes, Thompstone, Aspland-Robinson & Olowofela. That’s our wing options. Seems like we want finishers not line breakers, that’ll be the job of our centres??
Rumours of Borthwick to take over as Head Coach and Murphy to DOR may shake things up a bit. Borthwick known for attention to detail.

Re: Premiership Round 1 - Worcester vs Tigers

The most concerning thing for me is that for all the talk of change, resetting culture etc... Saturday's performance looked very similar to much of last season. Which was our worst ever. This was my concern. The most concerning comment on here is based around Worcester looking the more dangerous si...

Re: Premiership Round 1 - Worcester vs Tigers

So that does not make for good reading. Sounds like more of the same from last year. Players have changed (some of them). Coaches haven’t. Results haven’t. Coincidence??? Looking at the teams on paper, we should have won that all day long had we had any tactical or defensive structures. So why didn’...

Re: Ford dropped, England team for Oz

I had huge doubts about Jones’s selection, but I actually think he got it spot on. Slade had a couple of wobbles, but his decision making and execution of the kick for May’s try was very good. It would have been easy to just hoof it on the fly, and then you run the risk of the ball breaking anywhere...

Re: Premiership Round 1 - Worcester vs Tigers

Reid has started very well ball in hand, but kicking could be a concern. For that, does Hardwick come into the thinking??

Re: Borthwick

Could be Borthwick as DoR, as Gustard has done at Quins. I think Borthwick could be / will be a really astute appointment. Ambitious guy with a good coaching reputation already.

Re: PRC Round 2 - Tigers vs Exeter

A little harsh methinks. They've been more patient to create the gaps and have taken advantage and could have had a couple more tries with more incisiveness on the support lines and offloads. Lack of gameplay. So attacking them at ruck time and line out and moving the ball wide isn’t happening watc...

Re: PRC Round 2 - Tigers vs Exeter

Defensively we do look to be showing a bit more determination and togetherness, so that’s much improved. Positives, Reid and Liebenberg look very tidy. Green also looks busy. Holmes looks like he’s still got an eye for a telling line. Negatives, scrum is creaking badly against a pretty young and rel...

Re: PRC Round 2 - Tigers vs Exeter

If Saturday was Phase 1 with large number of youngsters, then I’d like to see a slight shift to Phase 2 whereby we add 2-3 more senior players but retain some youngsters to increase their development. Let’s not go straight to all senior players. Gigena, Kerr, Heyes, Green, Wells, Lewis, Reffell, Bol...

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

I can live with the result (albeit the scoreline is a bit harder to swallow) if the youngsters truly do gain something from it. Whilst it may quite not be Worcester’s full first team, it was significantly closer than ours. That was some way off what could even be described as second string for us, v...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I suspect Boladau’s contract maybe extended for a season loan depending on how he performs... in terms of World Cup ... Amosa is an up-and-coming international No8 for Samoa but unfortunately is already well established in the French circuits (currently plays for Bordeaux) and will cost a fair bob....
