Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I suspect Boladau’s contract maybe extended for a season loan depending on how he performs... in terms of World Cup ... Amosa is an up-and-coming international No8 for Samoa but unfortunately is already well established in the French circuits (currently plays for Bordeaux) and will cost a fair bob....

Wasn’t there talk previously of a coaching appointment post world cup? Assumed to be someone who was committed to a national team.

As a potential dispensation whilst Denton is recovering someone like Boladau being borrowed from London Scottish makes sense, but I’m not convinced it is him from the photos.

Managed to zoom in a bit, and he definitely looks Fijian. Big unit. Looks familiar, looks a bit like a young Wycliffe Palu.

On a side note, Viljoen is as big as George Martin.

I was going to suggest Polota-Nau before RB’s input.

Dimen is at the rugby camp, it’s on both his and Tigers’ social media.
Too tall and rangy in comparison to TPN.
I’d say has the look of a Fijian back row or winger, hard to differentiate, similar builds typically :smt002

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

That was my thought too, doesn’t look immediately like anyone I’ve seen in the squad up till now. If as someone else suggested he is a Pacific Islander, not big enough to be Kalamafoni, but too big to be Veianu. That said, are both away with Tonga anyway? Triallist maybe? Stands a bit taller than Gi...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Bakewell is the odd one for me, there has been little to no improvement at all under him. Blake, I give more leeway too, as in his previous tenure he actually had the defence functioning very well, and maybe he joined too late in the season this year. Let’s see what a proper preseason can do. Bakewe...

Weren’t Glasgow rumoured to have offered Smit a deal, in competition with us? Maybe Vakaloloma is instead of Smit.

Possibly not. Probably just a bit of a tenuous link based on him coming on loan, then being released.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Currie Cup only runs till September.
It’s reaching a bit.
Suppose it may just be the case that we feel we have enough back here options between the senior players and development options.

Hopefully still something in the Smit rumours.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

I’m still hoping there is enough room to bring in Smit and Blommetjies. That for me would round out the squad nicely, increased physicality up front and guile out wide. Based on the comment an offer had been put to Smit but not yet signed, you’d assume there is already money there for that addition,...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

Who’s the higher rated, Grahamslaw or Hills? Roleof Smit - linked yesterday, offer on the table but not taken up yet. Capped by SA once against Baa Baa’s. Had some injury problems, but watch the way he plays on the video below and you’ll see why. https://youtu.be/3vshzWln4GI Could be a very tidy acq...
