Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

One player from the Sunwolves I’d like to see is JJ Taulagi at Tigers. He may actually have already left Sunwolves thinking about it. Ex Queensland Reds and Samoa wing/fullback. Looks to have a bit of the Goneva’s about him, fast feet and offloads. Stories he relocated to the UK in the hope of getti...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 5

Say we are signing a youngish SA super rugby centre that would most likely mean we couldn't sign one at openside for example, and what position would we most likely need a youngish player in? As above we have 3 young opensides coming up why sign another SA one? Should we read something into this, a...

Re: Leicester Tigers Academy thread - U18 Champions 2018/19

Strange how they mention Tigers dismantling Gloucesters front row, but only one prop makes the cut.

Re: Sam Grahamslaw

There are some, me included, that feel Sheridan never really made it as a prop, apart from a couple of games where he bullyed a poor Aussie front row I think Sheridan's problem was that he was too tall, a thing that makes me wonder about Heyes. Heyes is not much taller than Dan Cole, and is a littl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 5

I’d be surprised if Taufua has binned off a Japanese contract to stay with the All Blacks, only to then decide to sign for a European club and write off his all black chances anyway? France, possibly at a stretch, but not British clubs, I just don’t imagine they pay enough when you factor in he’s sa...

Comment was ‘current or former all black’, ‘predominantly a 6’, but can play across the back row. Savea and Todd are predominantly 7’s. I’m thinking it’s Liam Messam, but I don’t know his contract situation in truth.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

Is there a squad balancing issue there perhaps in terms of calibre. For example, what international players do Sale have as opposed to us? So we need greater depth to cover international periods, plus those additional games perhaps take their toll so we again need depth to cover rest and recovery. I...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 4

Announcements to come in the next couple of weeks I was told by a fellow terrace dweller that with Williams off we have secured one of the two de Toit back rowers as his replacement and are working on a deal for the other. Not sure how nailed on the information is but very happy with that if true. ...

Re: Kerr gets Scotland call

Fair play to the lad. He made some bold career calls early on, choosing to walk away from Edinburgh with no contract to go to, and it’s panned out for him.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 4

Attwood said to be leaving Bath end of the season and wants to stay in the Gallagher premiership. Maybe worth a look at, would definitely bolster the pack, old school lock. Thought he'd go back to Toulon. I'd have him here in a heartbeat. Spencer, Green, Attwood and Wells is a good set of locks. I’...

Re: Dan Cole

I think Dan Cole has played too much rugby over the past few seasons, we have overplayed him and England have overplayed him the guy deserves a period to recharge and both Tiger and England need to give him back up. Playing the toughest possition on the pitch for 80 minutes each game he plays has g...

Re: WHY?

I don’t believe Exeter do make big name signings. Nic White, Lachlan Turner, Dave Dennis, Greg Holmes, Dean Mumm bought in from abroad. Hardly big name signings, just decent level experienced players a tier below real international calibre, just international fringe players, but all a good fit for w...

Re: Dan Cole

Cole definitely seems to have upped his game. Carrying is still not the strongest part, he’s not going to give you what Genge/Mulipola do/did for us, but he’s definitely become cleaner and more efficient around the breakdown. Tackle count seems to have gone up too. Looks to be playing with less pres...

Re: Defence Coach

Would Mike Ford’s potential arrival signal a longer stay for Joe Ford? Which I’d rather see Tom Hardwick step up to be George Ford’s understudy, he still has potential to be fulfilled with additional gametime, whereas Joe isn’t likely to get much better than he already is. I get the impression it’ll...

Re: Leicester Tigers Academy thread.

Thanks. (Explains why Costelow is at 12.) They rotate. costelow started 10 in the big derby game against Saints. I suspect the main reason Costelow is at 12 is because he might have to potentially fill in for Hardwick spot in the development/senior teams. Are you expecting J Ford to stay and Hardwi...
