Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat
I get the distinct impression that on the training paddock we are the best team in the world. Perfect line out, every set or called move perfect, blitz defence up in your face every time. But we are devoid, in a good number of players, a rugby brain. Ronnie O'Sullivan was talking the other day about...

Re: Warren Gatland's idea's for the game
Completely agree with Gatland on all counts. For me, the single biggest improvement to the game will come from reducing the size of players. There are several ways to achieve that, including reducing/restricting 'gym' time (which would have the side benefit of having more training time with ball in ...

Re: BRISTOL (H) - 5th June 2021
I haven't read through the whole of this post, not did I see the game at the weekend, though I've read a few articles about it. So apologies if this has been discussed and/or is not relevant. I thought the whole point of going to a 23 man squad a few years back was effectively to prevent uncontested...

Re: Rainbow Cup trial rules
And that to me is the problem. If scrums were a competition then it might be worth watching. But at the moment scrums are one of the parts of play that is regularly unwatchable. Which is why im baffled that of the things they are trialling are not things which will make much difference to the specta...

Re: England v Ireland travel
Last time i went to a major match at Twickenham (prem final 2 or 3 years ago), we parked about 5 minutes walk from Witton train station, i think on Percy Road. I had a quick check of google streetview, there are regular sections with no parking restrictions, so we didnt pay a penny. https://goo.gl/m...

Re: Saints away game to be played at Twickenham
One question - I had a quick look at tickets early which are all in the East stand currently. Does anyone know if the intention is that they only use a limited part of the ground, or just the East stand to test the new facilities? Edit: So I took the brave step of ringing the Saints ticket office - ...

Re: Sarries vs Tigers
What on earth is going on?!?!
Fantastic try, Tigers looking like their old selves - if they can keep this up itll be a huge confidence boost!
Just a shame I now have to go out so won't see the 2nd half :o

Ireland 6N tickets
Hi all, wonder if anyone can help. Im taking the wife to Dublin in February, which just so happens to be the same weekend as Ireland play Italy (not planned!). We thought it would be a good Christmas present to take the parents with us too, and for my dad, my father in law and I to get tickets to th...

Re: Did the timings of today's matches affect the semifinals
You're right that the scoreline flattered wasps, neither team played well though - I'd rather play Wasps than Saracens tbh. As for the delay, we were bundled in the south stand which turned out to be the football away end, so couldn't get anywhere, but when we heard it was being delayed at 3:50 we w...

Re: A6 off A14
FYI, the A6 is a local road not a trunk road, and managed by Northamptonshire County Council not Highways England. It is causing significant issues locally, and i think there was a press release a few days ago. As i understand it, a routine bridge inspection found a lot of issues which were fixed, b...

Re: Next match- Coventry v Tigers
Superb match, a good advertisement for rugby to be honest. I was with a group of 3 or 4 newbies, who all thoroughly enjoyed the match. Shame about the idiot on the mic - i can live with the drums and trumpets (it sounded like a french ground at times), but the mic was taking the cake for the most pa...

Re: Tackling players in the air
Just been watching the wasps match and Halai made a shocking attempt, and hurt himself. It does make me wonder whether there might be some sense in penalties against those who get their head in the wrong place. Halfpenny does it a lot too, and it probably causes more injuries than any high tackles. ...

Re: Teams up v Gloucester
I earnt myself £16, cheeky couple of quid when 31-7. Wish I'd done a tenna! In hindsight, probably the best way to start a season - a come from (very far) behind victory! McAffery superb I thought! Gloucester however find ways of losing matches like that quite often. Need to sort that out! oh, and f...
