Re: Tait Retires

Always a name I was happy to see on the team sheet. Top quality player, who may well have been even better with more luck re injuries.
Agreed re that tackle - one of the top 3 defensive pieces of play I've seen at Welford Road since I began watching games in 1989!
Best of luck to him for the future.

Re: What we are actually missing the most

Coaching and game plan. If you've got players with the undoubted ability of our back line delivering what they have over the last 2 home games for a management team that's been in situ for over a year, then any analysis of failings has to start with the mgmt and coaching team. We looked truly Arsena...

Re: MOC to be sacked?

Two crucial home games. Team close to full strength, less injuries than you would expect at this stage of the season. Two defeats. No top 4, at real risk of no top 6. No visible signs of progress or evidence of any longer term vision. Why would we keep O'Connor? (Other than because it would save the...

Re: Booing and Language, Timothy!

I'm afraid to confess I was moved to a bit of shouting at the ref on Sunday, despite being accompanied by my 7 year old son. However I restricted myself to comments involving 'gutless' and 'inconsistent' rather than anything more colourful or catchy. A little bit of shouting at the ref - 2 or 3 time...

Re: Racing 92 & Stade Francais to merge

I'm sure both clubs believe this is the best for them both but I don't like it. This is like Leicester Tigers merging with Northampton Saints. Yes, what a horrible thought! No it is not like that at all. If you look at the history of Racing 92 there has been much change. The Parisian public want a ...

Re: A ruck, or not a ruck?

I really enjoyed the game - I've never been interested in watching processions and the game was 17-15 and still in the balance after 60+ mins. Italy deserve credit for that however they got there. Part of competing is putting the opposition off their game. Jones sounded rather like Wenger post games...

Re: Owen Williams to Gloucester

I'm gutted if this is true. I think he's a better fly half from a control and game management perspective than Burns, he's a much better defender and he dovetails better with Youngs as a half back partnership. Also think his relative lack of progress owes much to the fact he's a facilitator and has ...

Re: Matt Toomua - anyone heard any news yet?

It sounds like people didn't catch this on the radio. Cockers was pressed a few times on whether we'd be looking to replace him and said pretty clearly that we didn't have the cash so we'd be looking to cover it from within the squad. Obviously a chance it's smoke and mirrors (although can't think ...

Re: Tigers v Racing 92

Williams ahead of Burns Tait ahead of Betham Slater ahead of Kitchener Baffling selection. Guess we are playing kick and chase and mauling against the biggest pack in Europe. Beggars belief What do Tait and Slater have over Cockers? Williams kicks better, particularly to touch, and we will need eve...

Re: Tait...not good enough

What total rubbish. Tait has put in some try saving tackles and IMHO only him, Thompstone and Laccy came out of the Glasgow game with any credit. People should actually watch games properly :smt013 +1. Tait did far more right than many of the team and a lot less wrong. Game was lost up front where ...

Re: Excuses

The contrast is not so surprising - given his achievements at Exeter Rob Baxter must have the longest line of credit going - is nothing short of incredible what he's done overall at that club and he's probably the least vulnerable coach in the country as a result, so can speak freely. Whereas Saints...

Re: Tigers v Sarries - Saturday 21st May at 12-30

The Happy Clappers are a bit like the Remain Campaign. Cant see the wood from the trees !! We have had 3 purgatory years.. The Doom Mongers have kept quiet to give Mauger a chance, but even with him, still totally useless basic technical skills under pressure. Which is the only time that matters......

Re: Tigers v Sarries - Saturday 21st May at 12-30

Agreed, work in progress but not devoid of optimism. We had good days this season, and created. Last year, as far as I can remember, we didn't. I also think that people disregarding the effect of being able to breach the salary cap are naive and deluded. As in all walks of life, being able to spend ...

Re: Sanderson - Leicester's cheating culture?

Agreed - the better team won. But people like Brits and Itoje have class in what they say and how they play, whereas the likes of Sanderson and Farrell just don't. And probably never will.

Re: Sanderson - Leicester's cheating culture?

Absent him and the eternal cheap shot merchant Farrell it's quite hard to dislike most of the rest of Sarries.

Anyway - there's many ways of cheating and if financial doping is one of them then Sarries should stop lobbing bricks round their glasshouse.
