Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
For me McKellar gets another year. He's a new coach in a world cup year without the benefit of moulding his own squad. Some bits have been OK but the absence of a dedicated attack coach is concerning. Not his fault but it is clear this is a glaring area of weakness that none of the current coaches s...

Don't think we have ever had much by way of favours from Ridley.

Yes, the woeful performance at Welford Road will likely cost us dearly.

Re: Champions' Cup Quarter finals 2024
Jack Willis world class performance this afternoon It's a shame England persist with their policy of not picking foreign based players. Alongside Earl and Mercer it would make quite a back row. Chessum and Martin as locks. All that would be needed are a couple of decent props to take the mantle fro...

Re: Formerly of this parish
Don't think he was lazy but injuries took their toll. Alesana was a huge presence that made room for others to exploit but when he left we went some time without crash ball threats other than Manu. A series of journeymen back rows offered no threat in attack. Add to that fairly limited game plans at...

Re: Autumn Series 2024
I do think Sky’s coverage was better than BT/TNT. Amazon’s coverage of the AIs was truly dire so that’s no loss. As a Virgin customer I find the restricted option that TNT give is poor. Red button options mess up being able to record matches they otherwise show on their 5th channel for Sky & Dis...

Re: Formerly of this parish
Always was in 2 minds about Manu. At his best he was a star for the club and responsible for one of my favorite nights at Welford Road (V South Africa with my now passed dad). but the way that he left after having spent so much of his time at the club on the sidelines still rubs a bit raw. Yes, thi...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
Wasps moved to Coventry so they could have their own stadium and with it the revenue stream that comes with it. That wasn’t enough for numerous reasons such as no fan base nearby and other crippling debts. On a short term basis sharing might work but even, for example Tigers shared with Nottingham, ...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
I think Marcus Smith is now England's best option at flyhalf and probably Fin Smith is close behind him. For me Steward should be at 15 and Furbank on the bench as his skill set equips him to cover several roles in the way Alex Goode should have been used by previous England coaches. Agree. Let’s s...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
Am I alone in thinking it strange that Freddie was dropped after his best attacking/counter attacking game in an England jersey? He was, by some margin, England's brightest spark against Wales. Should have made or scored a couple of tries but for tripping over his own feet having done the hard work!...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
I find the whole ruck interpretation fundamentally flawed and needs changing/clarification. If a defending player goes beyond the ball and goes to ground or is taken to the ground there is a significant risk of being penalised. An attacking player entering a ruck seems entitled to dive beyond it, us...

Re: Other European games - 05-07th April 2024
Am I missing something? Bordeaux player deliberately slaps it forward in attack -scrum. Itoje slaps it down in defence and it’s a yellow. Time to scrap the concept of deliberate in terms of knock ons. Put the ball within reach of the opposition and any attempt to play it by an on side player is fine...

To be honest on the form we've displayed of late, Leinster could turn out their veteran's 3rd team and not break sweat!

Re: News story on concussion
I'm no expert, but I would imagine the forces involved in many rugby collisions are more extreme than being punched. I cant believe there isn't more said about Woman's boxing, there is so much written about breast cancer and repeated blows to a sensitve area must be an increased risk? Similar risk ...

Re: JVP
He certainly looked like he was mentally retired against Gloucester. No thoughts of running or sniping around the ruck. He needs to find some form to justify selection ahead of Whiteley.
