Re: England v Ireland

Is it another injury or the same one?

Hopefully it is just a twinge of pain which is common when returning after hamstring tears rather than a repeat injury. If it is the latter then he may not make the world cup.

Re: England v Ireland

Ireland looked like a side that peaked 18 months to 2 years ago and has been held together for the world cup rather than continuing evolution.

Re: England WC squad

I am pretty sure I have seen Marler playing at tighthead. I too am surprised Heinz goes as one of only two 9's, not sure I agree with introducing a 32 year old at this stage it is hardly building for the future. We will never be better than the All Blacks if we select players that are only here bec...

Re: England WC squad

Anyone else concerned by only two scrum halves?
One injury in warm up and there is no scrum half on the bench.

Not sure the world cup is the place to be experimenting with George Ford at scum half.

Re: England v Wales

Not sure Watson will have the pace he once had. Having ruptured his achilles twice in quick succession he certainly looked like he's borrowed one leg from a sparrow when he played at the end of the season. His long term career may be better served by not taking him to the world cup and giving him mo...

Re: Ford in The Mail today

The attitude of the team stank last season. It was clear on the pitch that at times it didn't seem to be too much of a concern that they lost for some of them. That is an attitude that cannot be permitted. Players that don't want to give their all should be nowhere near a Tigers squad. If you have a...

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

Or is the whole up for sale thing a smokescreen?

Keep the same old management and structures with the “up for sale” as a sop to the fans who are rightly fed up with the current set up.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

The players may not have been good enough but there were far too many basic positional errors in defence that should not have occurred even at a level well below premiership. That's I don't believe is down to the players entirely. It is down to a lack of understanding of who is where and who is the ...

Anthem or dance a jig.
One or other. If teams want to do both then come out early on their own and not waste the opposition's time.

Re: I’m slightly worried Tigers are going to be undercooked...

We have been underprepared for the last few seasons.

However those we played we were so sloppy - leaking tries galore the questions as to whether this was just "friendly game" mentality or more underlying was answered fairly rapidly once competitive games started.

Re: Rule Changes After World Cup?

These see a bit silly. More kicking and more catch and drive. Tacking below the waist will just put heads and knees together. No jackaling is just a step nearer to rugby league. What needs to change is the clearing out to require players to stay on their feet rather than launch themselves at the pla...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

There are two likely reasons why this won't be seriously investigated and addressed. 1) The legal complexities regarding the enforceability of a salary cap. (If indeed the salary cap is legal under the law of the land) 2) For some of the clubs the old saying "People in glass houses...." Some clubs w...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

I suspect it is an acceptance that the league cannot control players earnings outside of rugby. They don't own the players and do not own the sponsors and the law would likely take the opinion that players are free to make investments and have other streams of income than the club providing they are...

Re: Maybe Genge starts the season with us? England RWC training squad

Funny how absence turns distinctly average players into far better ones than the reality. Marler is too big and immobile for a modern loose head but lacks the scrummaging power to be a tight head. Another example is Anthony Watson on Ok international wing (but no way near to May or Nowell in the pec...
