Re: Exeter Chiefs

Political correctness gone too far. They are not using the term Chiefs in a racist or negative way. However there is a case for asking what on earth the link is Exeter have with North American native tribes! In much the same way as Sale has to do with sharks. I've never been a fan of teams adding a ...

Re: THANK YOU

Times are a changing - just more and faster than we expected. Time to build a winning team again. A side that goes into every match with the aim of winning even if it is a scratch team and the opposition are the world champions. Sick of struggling against the likes Worcester and Newcastle. It's time...

Re: Steve Borthwick

Murphy has said that he will be picking the team - although that was earlier in the season, long before Borthwick arrived. I'm not aware of Borthwick being part of that statement on Radio Leicester! I would hope the two will work together but if push comes to shove why would an expericed internation...

I suspect Mulipola would be a step up in terms of salary cost compared to Bateman.

Re: Season Tickets

There’s plenty of noise in Crumbie. Offensive language is rare in my experience. There may rarely be the odd rude word expressed in frustration but is spite of our poor form of the past few seasons that remains rare. Occasionally you get the odd case of unwanted tickets sold for some of the bigger g...

Re: Manu Tuilagi

Are all of these players represented by the same agent?

The same stance for all of those might not work so well.

Teluasa and Manu may well get good Money in France.
Will the others risk slipping into retirement?

Re: Manu Tuilagi

I suspect that his signing or not doing so is probably based on the advice of his agent. When that happens to be a senior member of your family it can be very difficult to go against that advice.

Re: Steve Borthwick

I just hope that the loss of quite a few of our star players won't trigger a response from the sponsors who may have been hanging on for the new coaching set up along the lines of: What is the benefit to the company of sponsoring a bottom of the table club that has just lost its two biggest England...

Sad times for the club and I suspect that Tigers are not alone in this.

Re: Time for some clarity please

I think the CEO put it very clearly. There are no the funds and the entire first team squad have taken a 25% pay cut with the possiblilty that half of that may return when the finances have been turned around. The shut down has cost the club about £5000000 so far in lost revenue. All but 5 players a...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2

Being reported that Manu is willing to go to another Premiership club on less money :censored:! That for me is rubbing salt in after all Tigers have done for him over the last 10 years! From that you can only suspect that Tigers may well be paying a chunk of that in compensation or contractually bi...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2

It is far from clear if the problem is that Tigers haven't got the cash or that they need to comply with the new salary cap. If they don't have the cash then they have to do what they have to including offloading some high salaries. If it is merely to comply with the new salary cap I suspect the leg...

Re: Ideas for revenue generation at Tigers

Might be tricky to show the live matches if BT sport are covering them live or might not work with the highlight coverage on terrestral TV. Would be good if we could watch the matches BT don't cover as there are usually cameras there for th highlights programming.

Re: Steve Borthwick

If we can't finish above at least one other side next season I would be amazed. It might actually be easier to implement a new style of play with players who are more likely to stick to the script. And if those others have been acting like prima donnas then it may be a lot easier to build a proper ...
