Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021

Genge is the most potent of the English loose heads. Don’t see Mako making the squad as he was munched so badly in the World Cup final against South Africa. However I think he will be the bench option behind Healey as he offers more impact from the bench, with Sinckler as starting tight head he come...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021

Mako?
Wouldn’t start for England let alone the Lions. Never a great scrummager but has lost his effectiveness in the loose that was his strength in the quest for scrummaging power.

Re: New World Rugby Law Trials

For too long the attacking side have been allowed to dive head/shoulder first to prevent the defending side stealing the ball and or allow proper rucking. It is one of the most dangerous aspects of the game with diving clear outs hitting legitimately positioned opponents who are on their feet at kne...

Re: Ealing threatening legal action

It may not just be a matter of who gets promoted and who gets relegated once bancrupt clubs have been factored in!

Re: smart ball trial

It's a shame if it is a spoof.

The "interpretation" of a forward pass really annoys me. In the rest of the world but rugby, movement is defined relative to a fixed point, unfortunaltely rugby has allowed the "fixed" point to be the podition that the arms are pointing rather than the pitch.

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Thankfully Ashley and Martin are in the minority and generally businesses outside the public sector like Greggs and McDonald’s are treating staff quite well during this period. It’s self-employed businesses that will struggle the most during this time. There's a balance to be considered. Shutting d...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

If the shut down goes into next season, as it may well do, pay cuts could well be the tip of the iceberg. Jobs and many of the professional clubs as we know them today may go under. Sponsors will be tight for cash and if rugby isn't being played then they may not be in a position to sponsor sides to...

Re: Ealing threatening legal action

I am sure they are disappointed but the current situation is unique. It may well turn out that rugby may well not return in time for next season. Perhaps this season may get completed next year if we are lucky. Perhaps they are hoping to force the league to allow 2 teams to be promoted? Of course th...

Re: Utter Rubbish - Manus Red Card v Wales

Tackler is responsible for how he tackles. Tackle to head = red card. I think it's as simple as that. That’s the problem at the speed of the top level game players are being punished for making what are essentially fair attempts to tackle but penalised because a player falls and contact with the he...

According to a report in the Independant Michael Fatiolofa is walking unaided.

Re: Utter Rubbish - Manus Red Card v Wales

The problem is with the current laws which fail to consider that a player can be committed to a tackle at a legal height only to find the player has been tacked, stumbles or simply leans forwards bringing his head into the collision. If the tackler is committed and there is no time to pull out then...

Tigers beating South Africa.

Watching a scratch Tigers side defend their lead to the end (incuding a schoolboy Manu smashing any South African standing, frequetly double tackling with a player we had borrowed from Nottingham as some of ours were away with England)
