Re: Matera hero to zero

So how many of us haven’t said or done something in our younger days that we are far from proud of now.

If it was a year or two ago it would be different. This was as an immature youth. Move on.

Re: Role of the TMO

That is a good idea - I'm sick of players who are on the deck grabbing players who are on there feet. It's a penalty if you play the ball when on the ground and the same should apply to opposition players. There are too many players penalised for not rolling away when they are clearly being prevente...

Re: London Irish Away

The set piece was an issue - or rather the scrum. Without Gigena absent injured and Genge with England we were obliged to play Bower. The problem was either you start him with the hope that Cole will cope with the consequences of Bower not having the scrummaging power or you start LadyGaga and run t...

Re: London Irish Away

Perhaps the groin injury was a well deserved boot to the nuts from one of his team mates.

Back row lacked a snaffler.

Dumb penalties cost us.

Bower was undone by the opposition tight head.

Re: London Irish Away

Bower was exposed. Had our best 2 loose head props not been absent the scrums in the firsts half would have been different. One of the most stupid yellows I have seen. Discipline cost us. Too many dumb penalties. Good to see refs marching back 10 m for yapping. Shame it was us but I am pleased to se...

Re: London Irish Away

I know South Africans don’t have the greatest reputation for being bright but that was one of the dumbest yellows I have ever seen.

Brain fart of the top order.

Re: Autumn Nations Cup

I didn’t think Poite had that bad a game. Wales were out to negated England’s scrum, frequently long legged. I for one argue common sense applied with the run up to England’s try. The Welsh full back a ridiculous distance forward, rather than up. We see this as a tactical ploy by too many full backs...

Re: England's Worst 15

Burgess was awful.
Not his fault but he wasn’t a Centre and didn’t have the time to learn to play back row. A world class League player with no natural position in Union.

Hazell simply wasn’t big enough for international rugby. Same applied to Titterall at hooker.

Re: Borthwick

The other reason not to disclose who is and isn't fit is to avoid helping the opposition know what the likely game plan will be. Would you pick a lightweight fly half and inside centre if you know a Manu is playing against you? You might but you would probably plan a different defensive structure. N...

Re: Manu - Sale injury update

I think he will be very lucky to make the Lions. It's generally 2 months in a boot (and probably surgery before that) and then long, gentle rehab even for a professional sportsman. Many would perhaps hope to return for the end of this season, but given the tendency for his injuries to take a long ti...

Re: London Irish Away

I think the matches of last year against Irish were an illustration of how much denial we were in. Irish knew (until Sarries were punished) that they were in a relegation dogfight from the first game of the season. I don't think that penny really dropped: we played with the apparent attitute that we...

Re: Fans back in Stadiums?

The layout of the constituencies will also skew things - some are really bizzarre just to make up a constituency. So some like Blaby will have parts that blend into the city, yet other parts are literally miles away with vastly different rates.

Re: Tri Nations

The injury may have been the reason we didn't resign him, however we seemed reluctant to play him before his injury. Was that part of Cocker's disinclination to play youngsters?

I don't recall our back row of that era being rammed with star players.
