Re: Harry Thacker to Gloucester
I can't reveal my source but apparently another Tigers heading to the South West with Williams and Balmain! Strange if true, he won't get in at hooker ahead of Hibbard, and will be behind Rowan and Kivesic at 7 Isn't Kvesic off to Exeter for next season? Perhaps he's been offered 2nd choice hooker ...

Re: Bath blocks Ford exit
I don't think he was. He went on gardening leave while he saw out his contract, then joined the team who made the best offer?fleabane wrote:I think the point I was trying to make is more about Lowe being prevented joining a non-Merc team.
He didn't try to end his contract early and neither did Mercedes.

Re: Bath blocks Ford exit
F1 has release clause contracts, viz Paddy Lowe and Mercedes, who has been prevented from joining a non-Mercedes team. In another example, Ferrari sacked Allison, who has since been on gardening leave, and who cannot join his new team, Williams, until April. There is no element of restriction of tr...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
Unless lawyers have been busy and the clause is likely to be unenforceable due to restraint of trade. If Ford's contract is ending this season (which I don't think is the case) it is almost certainly unforeceable to have any "restricted work" clause that lasts post contract. I.e. He is a ...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2016/17 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread
George Ford speculation takes another twist with talk that he will now move to Leicester after change in coaching set up. But that doesn't change the fact the his contract apparently has a "shall not return to Leicester" clause, as reported in the press. If that is true he'd have to go so...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
Incorrect. The DOR picks the team alongside all those things you mentioned. Why would you take on a DOR role and then not be able to pick the team?! If the head coach picks the team then surely Mauger should have been sacked as his role according to you, was to pick the team. Look at all the DOR's ...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
Do we need a DoR at all? Was the role not created in order to allow AM to come in as Head Coach? The chief exec and the team manager can split the admin duties, or get in a new administrator. I think it was created when Meyer went, as a way to keep Cockerill and O'Connor and I'm not sure the club ev...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
There is an obvious difference between the Tigers set up and those others. Tigers have separate Head Coach and Director of Rugby roles, those other clubs don't. That's irrelevant. The DOR picks the team at Tigers or any other club for that matter. That's just the way it is. Even if there is a head ...

Re: DOR aspirants, then?
No, the DOR picks the team. You will not convince me otherwise. Are you telling me that Cockerill didn't and Rob Baxter, Steve Diamond, Mark McCall and Jim Mallinder to name a few don't pick the team? Not a chance! There is an obvious difference between the Tigers set up and those others. Tigers ha...

Re: Manu Tuilagi to Saracens!
With a name like Tigerlad I suppose you are of the same generation as Manu thus excuses for your hero worshipping. Talent is no good if it's not exploited and Manu for the last 2 years has rested on his former Laurels. It's ok to try and continually break the gain line but if the opposition suss yo...

He may have crashed his car while under the influence, into another vehicle. If you or I did that we would get three years in clink. I doubt it, if no one was badly injured and the driver was otherwise legal(as in has a valid licence and was insured etc) then it is unlikely to be more than a suspen...

Re: Hartley AGAIN
It's a debating point. In my view it all depends on the degree of the offence. For example I would find it very difficult to forgive the cowardly on field assaults of Clark on our hooker (senior moment temporarily forgotten his name!) and Duncan McRae on Ronan O'Gara for the Lions a few years back....

Re: Hartley AGAIN
What happened was nothing. Total bl66dy mess, created by Lancaster's ludicrous 'moral' crusade (which included trashing MJ's reputation). I genuinely feel sorry for the bloke. get off your high horses, forum - it was a nothing incident and if it was a Tigers player you'd all be screaming blue murde...

Re: Hartley AGAIN
I'm not the guys biggest fan but on a personal note I do feel sorry for him as he seems to let himself down at the worst possible times. First the Lions tour and now this. You forget that he was expected to make the WC squad before last, till he got banned for gouging two players in one match. The ...
