Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

Irrespective of the result based on performances throughout the season we do not deserve to be in top four/ six. No progress this seaso and the sad thing is that we have a squad which has the capability/ potential to be right up there.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

Despite disappointment, one of the better 6 nations of recent years. Pleased for Italy who were very competitive in all but one game.

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

Totally agree - poor by SB and the coaching staff sticking to predetermined game plan rather than reacting to what is happening in the game!

Re: 2024 Six Nations Chat

Back to the England game - shout out for unsung hero, Dan Cole. Often maligned ( including on this forum) Dan has played a key part in England’s 2 most impressive performances over the past 12 months, yesterday and v Boks in the World Cup. At least held his own v Porter yesterday in the tight and as...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

Well done England and well done SB - we deserved to win and had a good strategy which was very well executed. The Saffas played as well they were allowed to and posts which demean the England performance on the basis that the Boks did not turn up are imo playing to their own preconceptions and preju...

Re: RWC 2023 Fixtures and results

The ferocity and tempo of this game indicate that both of these sides would embarrass England, unfortunately.

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

All conjecture at present - different context but interesting that there was no suggestion that World Rugby would appeal the sanction issued to Sexton for his treatment of officials so by implication they must have been comfortable with it. Clearly digging themselves into a hole for similar offences...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

A lot of prejudice on the Forum against Farrell, I’d rather go to the RWC with him than without him. Process has been followed - there have been and always will be outcomes that are not popular ( imo Steward fortunate not to get a red on Saturday )

Re: World Cup Squad Announcements

From an England perspective, I am not optimistic for the RWC. Disappointingly but not surprisingly, I have not seen any progress under Borthwick and co ( at best! ) I think the principal issue is the pack which we have available where we seem to lack powerful, ball carrying forwards capable of winni...

Re: Chris Ashton

We are not going to fall out over this RG - ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder ‘ ( maybe the wrong analogy ?!) but Aston deserves plaudits not semantics! I think that some Tigers’ fans ‘reluctantly’ accept him because of his past associations but as you say his ( try scoring ) record is never lik...

Re: Chris Ashton

Clearly the sensitivities of the occupants of ‘pedants’ corner’ have been ruffled. Ashton by the fact is the most profiling try scorer in the English game since it went professional - he is a very good player. This does not in any way undermine the status of former ( or current players), the facts s...

Re: Rob Baxter: Exeter boss wants teams to be able to replace red-carded players during games

Have to say I am from the old fashioned school of the referee ( and now the other officials ) being accountable for decisions. With the current system there are sufficient numbers and sufficient technical aids to reach a reasoned decision. If a mistake is made, a mistake is made and this has always ...
