From what I’ve seen the French and Japanese clubs haven’t strongly recruited from them either.
It does mean they can stay closer to home while playing a higher grade of rugby

IMO the whole sourcing of southern hemisphere players has changed caused by a number of factors. The emergence of 2 competitive pacific islands super rugby teams, especially the Drua. Money in Japan meaning a number of New Zealanders are turning there for career breaks, with a shorter season and hig...

Re: Dan Mckellar

Really should be an Aled Walters thread. I have ad nauseam pointed out that SB wasn't the loss, it was AW. Players who are megafit don't knock on, they reach those passes, hit those gaps, make those tackles etc., and win games in the last quarter. For various reasons we have become adept at losing,...

A little more than that. With Feya Waboso given a license to roam where he fancies Baxter possibly feels he needs more solidity at the back rather than Hodge going awol too

Watching Sarries play imagine if we had managed to secure Cinti and González as opposed to Bassett and Rogerson. I honestly feel that the way other clubs capitalised on the 3 demised clubs players compared to us has been one of if not the biggest factor in the swing in a way. Prob only 4 clubs didn...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

RBs point re an A league is excellent. You would have thought that with there only now being 10 clubs there would be a way of resurrecting this

Season was dead for me after the Brizzle game.
Looking forward to next season with hope and expectation.
Plenty of other rugby to be enjoyed

Re: French rugby 2023/24

Watched highlights of the Castres Montpellier game, which from what I could see Montpellier should have won. No sign of Sam Simmonds from what I could see. Is he injured ? He must have had a quiet game because he was selected at 7 and was substituted in the 66th minute!! They were short highlights ...

I’m not that opposed to an extended ruck it’s the adding of 1 or 2 more bodies when the ball is already at the back that annoys me

Re: Dan Mckellar

Employment law may well prevent the termination of an individual contract until the process has been completed but it doesn't prevent the employer from bringing in a replacement on a temporary basis. Nor does it prevent the employer bringing in someone to take on the role of a failing coach. It mig...

Re: Dan Mckellar

Wow this is serious isn’t it !? After multiple comments on McKellar on multiple threads we now have a dedicated thread to lay into him ! Terrific! I’m sure that was the OP intention but there are enough wise heads on here to look at the bigger picture. As others have said in 12 months time there wi...

Re: Karl Dickson

I agree with the comments regarding the improvement in Dickson, he is developing into one of our best referees. I have been watching rugby for a long time and remember early Barnes and Owen, even as experienced referees they still.made some questionable decisions but on the whole were good. Probabl...
