Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

A coincidence that Farrell leaves in the same year as the Vunipolas? I imagine their last contract on relegation was lucrative, unrepeatable and now expired Farrell leaving is more to do with abuse received by him and his family than any contract. He is going to be missed more than we will miss Wie...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Manu Vunipola to fill our 10 void? I’ve suggested but others not keen. He’s still young and not sure he’s ever been given a proper go at Sarries with the rather using Goode when Farrell was unavailable, there may of course be very good reasons for this I’d take a punt on him! For what we are lookin...

Re: Law changes coming in to effect 1st July

No issue with the Caterpillar so long as the ball is used when the call is made and refs stick to the 5 seconds The call is often made too late and then they don't stick to the 5 seconds. The problem for the refs is now the whole thing has become so orchestrated and has been in practice for such a ...

I don’t know if Carreras is staying or going, but if he's staying, then surely there's a chance George Barton may want a look elsewhere, if we can attract him I think he'd lbe a great little signing. Not certain but I think Skivington sees him more as a 15. With Ainscombe and Atkinson they will be ...

IMO Moroni form has dipped since moving to Falcons, understandably, but as they say class is permanent and that ability to cover centre and wing is invaluable

Re: Law changes coming in to effect 1st July

I’m not that opposed to an extended ruck it’s the adding of 1 or 2 more bodies when the ball is already at the back that annoys me Yeah, that's what I would outlaw. When this was discussed on here it seemed universally popular and seemed easy to implement. I don't understand it tbh. Once the ref ca...

I can see Ewers coming in similarly to Mike Williams covering 6 and lock. Wouldn’t want him to restrict Carnduff potential game time

RagingBull wrote: Mon May 13, 2024 4:39 pm I didn’t think the landscape has changed that much, the PI super rugby teams will prob make it easier to spot.

From what I’ve seen the French and Japanese clubs haven’t strongly recruited from them either.
It does mean they can stay closer to home while playing a higher grade of rugby

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

IMO the whole sourcing of southern hemisphere players has changed caused by a number of factors. The emergence of 2 competitive pacific islands super rugby teams, especially the Drua. Money in Japan meaning a number of New Zealanders are turning there for career breaks, with a shorter season and hig...

Re: Dan Mckellar

Really should be an Aled Walters thread. I have ad nauseam pointed out that SB wasn't the loss, it was AW. Players who are megafit don't knock on, they reach those passes, hit those gaps, make those tackles etc., and win games in the last quarter. For various reasons we have become adept at losing,...

A little more than that. With Feya Waboso given a license to roam where he fancies Baxter possibly feels he needs more solidity at the back rather than Hodge going awol too

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Watching Sarries play imagine if we had managed to secure Cinti and González as opposed to Bassett and Rogerson. I honestly feel that the way other clubs capitalised on the 3 demised clubs players compared to us has been one of if not the biggest factor in the swing in a way. Prob only 4 clubs didn...
