Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

So Jed Walsh/Morgan Meredith for Lancaster should I think be a decent cap saving. agreed, and from what I've seen of Meredith he looks very promising (great to see him featured in recent Tigers training photos, often with GF). Really hope we see him (and Walsh) play in the PLC next season at least

Re: Leicester Tigers women's team?

Very strange if so. Yeh It makes sense from Tigers and Lightning POV though. IF true I suspect Tigers feel they have enough foundation down to absorb a league spot now and that doing it through Litchfield might take too long. For Loughborough it's what halves the travel time. Saints didn't want the...

Re: PRC - Other midweek Matches

Exciting match in terms of it going to the wire as others have said lacking in quality. Not sure who got motm but anyone but Ted Hill would be an injustice, Mafi bought some quality off the bench. Less space given to Arundell, teams are learning how to defend against him, it’s now we will start to ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

It might not be as simple as just the club kicking him out because he's not good enough. Perhaps he is frustrated by the lack of game time, no suitable loan arrangement has come along and he feels his best option is the move to Ealing, so he's asked the club to let him leave early, SB has said we f...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Keeping WW on the playing books is a strange with the cap reducing, it does tie up a fair amount I would guess for a bloke who really shouldn't be anywhere near the first XV, same with Gopperth in many ways. My guess with Browning is the hope that either he goes off with the 7's & it makes him ...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

I think my only surprise was Dolly. But power to the lad for securing the place. I imagine the average age of Tigers 23 is lower than Leinster, but I am guessing. Ave age of both squads tomorrow is 27 but ours is spread wider with 8 over 30's v Leinster's 5 but we have 7 under 23 v Leinster's 3 (no...

Re: Return fixture - Clermont (H) - 16th April 2022

So would I. The Clermont game isn't "in the bag", but even with changes, I'd expect Tigers to win comfortably. Quins, however, are a different kettle of fish and I'd send as full-strength side as possible, but SB may well think otherwise!! I agree, I think we will win comfortably on Satur...

Is this the same panel that are hearing Porters disciplinary? It will also depend upon whether Guy accepts or challenges the charge. i understand the rules have changed re pleading not guilty at hearings negatively effecting the outcome penalty. It doesn't (or shouldn't) make any difference now to ...

Re: Guy Porter red card

just to add some conspiracy theory to the whole thing: The contact Frits Lee's head makes with Porters head is over his right eye (see video and see how his right hand goes up to the spot as he falls backwards). However the huge gash is on the left hand side of his head running above his ear - how d...

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?

http://rugbyandthelaw.com/2022/03/21/leicester-tigers-salary-cap-investigation-breach-fine-premiership-rugby-saracens/ Some pretty damning comments in there for the club. Though Saracens’ breaches in 2016-17 and 2018-19 saw them exceed the cap more significantly, some of the arrangements in that ca...
