Re: Lions 2021
Yes agreed … Sam Warburton and also Jonny Wilkinson are the best two commenters / analysts for me.

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021
Assuming everybody is on form .... the 2021 Lions Squad seems a little weaker than previous ones. E.g. how many of the 2021 squad or Will Greenwoods 15 (!!!) would be 1st or 2nd in their position worldwide ?

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Exactly ... the trend is for all players get bigger, fitter and faster ... even the props can't afford to just be scrum demons they need to be fit and offload etc ... so the backs need to be expert in the breakdown as they get most exposed in space ... similarly the forwards need to be able to pass ...

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Surely Wales are due a kick-back bounce from the recent losses (maybe a passionate home battle with ENG) but then maybe the Warren Gatland / Shaun Edwards combo was even better then we thought. Wales have some great players so you really have to question how they are being coached and motivated unde...

Re: Autumn Nations Cup
Should be good litmus test for ENG after slightly disappointing ITA performance completing 6N. Chance to consider options for 8, 9, 12 and back 3. At 8 I would trying a faster lighter option than Billy V who hasn’t fully fired for a while for me so maybe another crack with Curry making (almost) a th...

Re: Commentators
Talking of Squidge Rugby, there are a few decent youtube channels like Squidge Rugby that make a competent watch. Squidge talks sense but is very quirky in his humour and delivery style, whereas RugbyAnalyst is more normal but still decisive. The best one I have seen historically is The 1014 Rugby c...

Re: Gamesmanship shenanigans
100% agree .... too many teams do this including the backs getting their GPS metres covered stats boosted by sprinting to every scrum or breakdown that is won !! Not sure that the ABs do it as much as most tbh ... Note it's the one and only negative aspect of the otherwise stellar Itoje too.

Re: ITA vs ENG ... Handbags or Psychological Edge ?
Glad you all noticed the underlying battle and it wasn't just me that misread it. There are clearly ways to keep the psychological advantage without getting carded ... one of which is to win and win well ... but closely after that you need a collective "take no :censored:" stance ... can y...

ITA vs ENG ... Handbags or Psychological Edge ?
Opinions please ... not sure on my take to be honest ... but its seemed that for some of the match the ITA forwards were starting to get ENG quite rattled ... ITA more fired up, not willing to lose a pushing and shoving battle etc ... Tom Curry was influenced in particular and looked on the edge alt...

Re: Ben Youngs - 100th Cap....v Italy...England Team announced
Well done Ben !! Cant argue with that really. 10 Years or so at the top. Selected by multiple coaches and whilst Eddie (for me) can be questioned over some choices, he almost got us the RWC and his ledger is massively in the positive. Robson coming on after 60 will be interesting as ITA may start to...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021
Actually ... thinking about tactics required to beat the boks ... i.e. an 80 minute relentless pace and lightening breakdown play to find space wide away from the big forwards being key .... in that context AWJ is simply not fast enough / fit enough anymore ... he was but not anymore IMHO ... the te...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021
If all are fit .. Itoje and Ryan for me ... AWJ tours and maybe main 23 match day squad or mid-week captain. Good engine, great longevity and service to Wales but suspect that this next Lions season will be his last international one ???
