It’s interesting really I think if it was up to Borthwick we wouldn’t have announced Pollard when we did if not for trying to calm down supporters.
There is a fine line between Secrecy & Mushroom Treatment, for me the balance is off at the moment.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

I would be surprised if Aled was part of an England set up. As for Gopperth if he is still a player all his wages come out of a shrinking cap, not sure it's a good use of the cap, likewise WW continuing to play, we definitely can't carry both within the cap. Harrison has never looked anything specia...

Re: Formerly of this parish

Sam Costelow came on against Bristol and had a torrid time. Missed a tackle that led to a try, missed another one (fair enough on a rampaging Luatua) that led to another try and then half made a tackle that led to another try. Probably a night to forget for him. Sounds like his move to Scarlets rea...

Nothing so far gives me the feeling Green is off
Having been given the cherrio treatment early in his career, I doubt he would want to go a 2nd time.

Who against please?
Scarlets
Ah that's where I got the Welsh connection then, was it a Covid export?
As the rates in the Principality are dropping fast who knows.

Joe Hayes possibly misses out on a chance to make the England 23 with tomorrow's game called off.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

The obvious gap for 7's in Wales is probably Scarlets but only as McLeod seems to be on a horrendous injury run & "Cubby" Davies hasn't played for some time due to concussion...(you fear the worst there), Cardiff have about 4 teams worth of backrow next season. You wouldn't blame him if he wants to ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Am now worried about Reffell's continued future at the club after Pivac's comments about not selecting him as he plays in England. Unless England decides to pick him very soon, I can see him returning to Wales in order to enhance his international aspirations. . https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

I seem to remember in about 1995 when I think Bath played Tigers and I think Johnno was asked about the competition between Andy Robinson (Olly's dad), and he said "what competition!?". I hope Olly is at least as good as his dad, in any case :) He definitely looks like him IMHO. :) He doesn't look ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Cardiff aren't exactly short of back row players & more inbound for next season, (they can keep them fit though...the pitch maybe??) as much a trial as anything else. Personally I would if preferred Illone to get a go, but that appears unlikely. Hope we have Robinson a proper coloured scrum cap sor...

Robinson signing suggests someone might be broken longer term.

He is bigger than his Dad & I have only really seen him at 7 for Cardiff.

Re: 6 Nations 2022

Better for me! Ewels looks like he goes missing when it matters, that’s one thing Wells certainly doesn’t do! Still doesn't make Wells an International. But you have to judge him and compare him to players in the squad Not arguing that he is better than Ewells, (how he has that many caps is a myster...

Wells isn't a International nothing wrong with that.

He’s as good as Ewells
