Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Just spit balling but if Jordie Barrett has signed for Leinster that probably spells the end for Charlie Ngatai, he is 33 so he may well hang up his boots but he could be a good shorter term punt to fill one of those center shirts Ngatai is an excellent player, but frequently injured, think he alsk...

If nothing else this is the right way of announcing departures rather than some of the previous nonsense, all we need now is more clarity on injuries (amongst other things) & the mushroom farm might need to close. I hope Porter is leaving to play rugby elsewhere. I would take a punt on Manz Snr ...

Re: Black Lions fixture

Some of it was not making it clear what the boundaries of Cocker's & Mauger's responsibilities were, meant the board ended up sacking both as the players had split as well, then we had the world search for the best coach...

Re: Black Lions fixture

The we will sort it out @ Oval Park & Manu will be fit next week became rather boring in the end. When he became the genuine top of the coaching tree he couldn't/wouldn’t see past the next game. The above doesn't or shouldn't cloud his achievements as a player & coach, much like we should al...

The Scarlets found them competitive that's for certain.

Umanga, Nonu started on the wing, Julian Savea is playing 12 these days, Bryce Heem is playing inside as well, only ever seen as a 14 when up here. Think David Havalli played wing early in in his career... The one thing that links them all along with Jordie Barrett (who can play 10-15 & maybe ha...

Just go back to how rucking used to be...a decent ref can work out what is a rucking motion & what isn't. There aren't rucks anymore it's a pile of bodies that becomes a Caterpillar, the number in the 6N with 5, 6 or more players of the team with the ball in a "ruck" with no opposition...

DMK seems like a bloke who spouts less nonsense than some other coaches, I get the feeling that he would be even more candid, but is not allowed to be/or is good at keeping himself in check. That for me is some progression & to be fair to the bloke bar a missed Quins kick he hasn't had much good...

Re: Other European games - 05-07th April 2024

RG Snyman has been ruled out for Munster tomorrow. One fan has posted that he's played in 1 Champions Cup game for Munster in his time there, with that game coming away from home. In total he's made 7 appearances for Munster and 11 for South Africa. Possibly the worst signing of all time, finance w...

Whitcombe is an interesting one as when he was understudying Genge he looked, not quite the heir apparent, but not far off.

As for youth on the bench today...not much option.

Bare minimum today is to make Leinster win the game.

All this tosh about Mckellar not trusting youth
You can flip that statement to say what have Cronin & Van Wyk done to get selected over Whitcombe.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

Not playing for the Scarlets could be seen as beneficial at present...
Always rated Jones, he might just need a change of scenery. It should be noted he has been playing a bit of TH as well.
Nothing against Smith's signing just personally rate Jones higher.

Ospreys have replaced Nicky Smith with Steff Thomas from the Scarlets, BBC report also stated Wyn Jones is leaving, destination unknown...think we might have signed the wrong Welsh LH.

I won't be watching, as I consider, and have done for some time, that this is a massively biased/fixed/uneven etc competition. I also hate the baloney about Leinster - they have huge advantages that can only be nullified by the big money French. I remember Donncha O'C commenting on how they'd never...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

The whole competition is a mess now, it should have gone back to how it was pre covid, but 2 of the 3 competitions that make it all up don't need those extra games to some extent, a 10 team league obviously does...& unfortunately as the RFU has never been great at bridge building the English tea...
