Steward is a full-back, and also a handy winger when needed, which is now thanks to injuries. Freddie probably also wants to stay in the back 3 so moving him to centre probably hacks him off more than anything.

I think most of us felt we needed at least two of Chessum, Martin and Tommy back. I’m glad we do have that, but losing Hanro is frustrating, however buzzing for young Finn. As a Market Harborough lad, I hope he tears into them.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

The club really needs to pick up some more promising young players More planning and we might have been able to have signed CCS to replace Wiese, Louie Johnson to back up Pollard. Like we should have seen Irish failing and had a talk with Wiese about his future, if he wasn't going to commit to a lo...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

We won't be sacking McKellar. You also don't let McKellar sign players for next season, then sack him at the end of this season, that is beyond absurd. For all the noise about McKellar, from the Quins game at home onwards, we have played 10 games in the league and have won 7. A 70% win percentage hi...

yep. jobs for the boys......... Just say the name. If it ends up right, great. If it ends up wrong, who cares. As I said earlier if it’s internal job why delay it. Agreed. You’d just announce it. If it someone that McKellar has worked with before, then I don’t see the issue with that either. If any...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Next season he will be judged more sharply and I don't think that is unfair. I'm more intrigued to see who the new attack coach is going to be. Almost zero rumours at this stage. Almost is not quite Zero, I'm guessing though it's too thin to share publicly what you have heard then 😉 Really, the onl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Agree that we cannot judge McKellar until next season at the earliest when he has got a full coaching staff and some of his own signings. He has inherited this squad and will no doubt have 3 or 4 players that he wants to bring in once current contracts have expired. I am somewhat bored with this ar...

I think Carnduff is a 6. Hanro is 6'6, and Finn is 6'4, so he is shorter than Hanro, however he does weigh the same as Hanro. A a result, I think he is perfectly suited for the back row. Plus being shorter means he is better suited for a turnover as we saw at Newcastle.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Moroni for Scott, as an experienced option, would be a decent move for 12 months. Just my opinion but I don’t get the on going fascination with ex players Can only speak personally but I don't really see the likes of Genge or Moroni as ex-players, I just see good rugby players that are proven perfo...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Moroni and Orlando could both be exiting Falcons. Moroni is a brilliant defensive general, which we need, and Orlando is a running threat, which we need. I’m sorry but Moroni is no where near the player he was. Certainly wouldn’t be a step up on what is already there I think Moroni would be a step ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

This is personal opinion, but i think we will only see a centre coming in for sure, as that is the major hole there. TH i think will be covered by Tim Hoyt, which as 4th choice i am comfortable with. The only question is whether another lock or back row comes in. Personally the answer to that is wh...

This is roughly depth chart as I'm expecting it next season brackets mean they cover here but primarily play elsewhere. LH: Smith, Cronin, Whitcombe, Van Der Flier HK: Montoya, Clare, Vanes, Theobald-Thomas TH: Heyes, Cole, Hurd, New Signing (probably, possibly also cover LH also based on rumours) ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I might well be being too relaxed about the DK thing, but does Fissler's article today say anything more than what RIL did on Tuesday? We all felt it was a thin rumour then. There's no mention of Munster approaching us or speaking with DK. The article only says that they are interested and that we w...
