There's only one thing better than driving to work along country lanes on a warm summer's evening, window down, listening to Mahler...
and that's driving home in the morning.

Re: Bill McLaren turns in his grave
Harry Roberts was a South African who played for Tigers in the eighties, at hooker. He retired after several unsuccessful ops on his shoulder.

Re: Record or CD
The first vinyl I bought was "The Jungle Book" album from a record shop in Market Place, Loughborough, circa 1969.
I still have the album.
I have no idea what was the first CD I bought. Probably Mahler's First Symphony.

Re: BBC Sport Personality
I believe a campaign has started to back Alex Zanardi for the Oversees Personality of the Year.
And after towing and pushing 17-year-old quadriplegic Eric Fontanari along the majority of the Venice marathon course, I for one, hopes he wins it.

Re: Bargain Train Travel to Leeds Feb 13th
Each time I've been to Headingley I've paid at the gate. Last year I emailed Leeds, who replied that tickets would be available at the gate, but it would be best to buy online, in case of a sell out match. Yeah, right. I guessed they wanted the money upfront so they could earn interest on it.... re ...

Re: East Midlands Trains Are Taking The Proverbial
The key thing to remember when buying split journey tickets is that the train you use must actually stop at the stations you have your split for. ie you couldn't use a the tickets described above on a train that was a non-stopper from Leicester to St Pancras, or one that didn't stop at Bedford for ...

Re: East Midlands Trains Are Taking The Proverbial
Try splitting the jounrey into several parts and buying a ticket for each part, rather than one ticket for the whole journey. When I travel by train to London I never buy a return ticket to St Pancras (at the time of writing a return for today costs £48). But if I buy a return ticket to Kettering (£...

Re: Sixteen men on pitch
My big questions are, why didn't the Tigers management get a message onto Deacon to tell the ref "as the laws state it's a penalty to us, we'll kick for goal/kick for touch/scrum/tap and go".
And why wasn't our touchline official reminding the 4th official to remind the ref of the rules?

Re: Leeds V Tigers
I've only ever paid on the gate at Leeds. I'm not sure if they give a discount for buying online though. I've got friends not far from Leeds/Huddersfield, so I normally leave my car at their farm and catch a bus into Leeds, then a train to Headlingley - I can have a few beers and when I get back the...

Re: Curmudgeoness Abounds. Christmas Edition.
Why are shops not selling Easter Eggs yet? Or are the masquerading as Holiday Eggs? I work for a parcel company. We've been delivering Christmas goods to shops since the beginning of August.... I've seen some January Sales posters being sent through now. In past years, Easter stuff starts to filter...

Perhaps not.
But a DVD of That Night would still be nice.
