Exeter vs Leinster...

..I hope the players were watching. Great game, great intensity and great commitment by sides. Exeter looked far better than us this season, particularly the backs.

Re: Premiership finances revealed - guess the largest losses?

Interesting article. I look at company filings a lot for my job and had actually been putting together a few comparisons on rugby club finances (very sad, I know) over the last few weeks. For years ended 30 June 2011 Tigers paid out £7.1m in wages (with 79 playing/coaching staff, and 68 others), mar...

Re: Realizing potential?

If we can pull TBP wins out of the bag now when we have to, surely we can keep on with this mindset of desperation to win every match next season! Lets keep things in perspective. Winning against a mediocre and understrength Saints, against Worcester and scraping a victory versus Irish are no great...

Mickey Young

Thought he looked a cracking little player in the BaaBaas game. And by God does Ben need some competition. I think some of his early England performances went to his head. Perhaps Mickey is the one to bring him back to earth. Sort it out, Ben. He was quoted in the Mercury as saying: "I would re...

Re: Today's Game - Tigers v Leinster LIVE DISCUSSION HERE

Absolutely second best. We deserved to lose today.

Our backs aren't good enough.Give it a couple of years and maybe a Tuilagi/Allen?Twelvetrees axis will work.

We will wim the premiership again this year but our backs are not up to it at European level. Youngs/flood didn't show today. disappointing.

Re: Ben Youngs - "I was an Idiot"

Norfolk & Goode wrote Tut tut tac106 - way off!! :smt018 Just keeping Ben honest - as fans, it's what we have to do. Make sure they know the value of the shirt. The antics behind Nick Easter still intrigue me, though. Not just Youngs but Strettle, Care, Doran-Jones, Haskell - they of Wellington...

Re: Ben Youngs - "I was an Idiot"

A few incidents have given me cause for concern about Ben... -shushing the Llanelli crowd after he scored in HCup; -yellow card against Ireland; -push against Eoin Reddan at scrum; -antics behind Nick Easter when he lifted the 6N trophy ('hi mum!') -see video on BBC website, was it really appropriat...

Re: Geordan Murphy...our captain.

First of all, I think it's important that the fan base of a club regularly appraises the performance of its players. This site is a great forum for that. GM has always been prone to a few howlers, but more than it makes up for it with his acts of sheer class. He's showing his age, that's all. Still ...

Sarries on the town

Out in St Albans and Sarries players are out in force. Knocking back the shots like no tomorrow. De Kock says Youngs is real test quality. Joubert is vast.

Re: Cockerill, Leicestershire, 'You know?'

It is undoubtedly an Aussie thing - Pat Howard said it at the start of most his sentences.

More interesting is that Cocker has been talking with an Aussie accent of late - obviously spending too much time with O'Connor.

Defence. commitment & Mauger

A great win and a somewhat unexpectedly good performance. What struck me throughout was the extremely aggressive defensive display. We were right up in the Saints faces as soon as you could say Tonga'uhia. In particular i would have to single out Green, Kay, Ayerza, Pienaar - i think the entire tigh...

Re: Expectation Management

Who can honestly put their hand up and say that they do not expect us to be in the mix at the end of the season? Not me. We're always trudging around in mediocrity at the start of the season, often with valid rationale. This time it's a surfeit of away games, injuries in key positions, a weaker squa...

Re: Funny Telfer video from '97

These clips on youtube persuaded me to buy the Living With Lions DVD from 1997, and it sure is compulsive and compelling viewing.

It certainly looks like some of the Leicester boys, Johnno, Backy, Wiggy etc were some of the quieter members of the tour.
