Wasn't that the lineout from which Toby scored the intercept?

If so, I'm glad Poite didn't whistle... :smt003

Re: Oxford Welsh game - All Threads merged here.

Thought Jordan has a decent shift when he came on too. Goneva struggled somewhat defensively, which will be a worry later with more astute oppos. He's a handful going forward though...

What's with the "dummy throw" routine for TY? Thought he was going to get pinged!

Another similar article in the Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/club/9504705/George-Ford-prepared-to-challenge-Toby-Flood-for-No10-shirt-at-Leicester-Tigers-and-England.html I agree it would be selfishly great for us for Ford to be on the cusp of the England 23, but not in the ...

Re: Deacon to miss the start of the season

Louis Deacon is less than half a stone heavier than Geoff Parling and they are both 6'6", so how is he, the current England lock a "light weight"? Geoff Parling is the future for us Louis is probably going to retire soon due to all these injuries. For me it is more about what they ge...

Re: Lawrence Wooldridge

There seem to be quite a few people who've got their knickers in a twist over this one. A few thoughts from my side, in no particular order: 1. I might have missed the part where it explained this channel (the non-rugby, 6'1"+ athletes) is the only route into Tigers - I would prefer to presume ...

Re: Richard Thorpe from LI

Leicester Tigers have signed flanker Richard Thorpe from Premiership rivals London Irish. The 27-year-old has already been training with the Tigers and his former club will pay some of his wages during his first season at Welford Road. Director of rugby Richard Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: &...

Re: Wot? No thread on tonight's match?

It seems strange to me that Tigers played much better when all the internationals were away . They come back and get game time and Tigers resort back to playing like they had been for most of the season, dull boring rugby. Why the hell Cockerill has to change things is beyond me, the Internationals ...

Re: Hawkins Injury/Clark Citing

Boys, boys, boys, apart from the most myopic observers, nearly everyone agrees that this incident deserves a citing. Bringing up previous incidents, whether provoked or not, and deciding whether the actions were justified or not, is irrelevant to this case. We'll just have to wait and see what happ...

Re: Chuter cited?

Slater's sin-binning WAS completely unjustified. The Saracens' jumper was dropped by his lifter. It had nothing to do with Ed Slater who simply contested the ball. The jumper, I think it was Jackson Wray , was shown smirking afterwards in an almost Tom Williams-esque manner. No wink though. :smt002...

Re: Who Plays 10 next week?

I don't expect Toby to make the starting XV for England next Saturday, based on his last two performances and the fact that Hodgson has been ok with fairly slow ball. Furthermore, I would be surprised if Toby was on the England bench - that would mean we have 3 10s in the 22 and not enough cover, IM...

If you struggle to get one, you could always buy a Girton College scarf - same colours and a very nice scarf (although I might be biased!)

Re: Is this really an England Team?

I'm sorry, but is this really worth getting worked up about? All countries take advantage of the IRB laws / rules on eligibility. After all, if you can't game the system you'll be at a disadvantage. I don't particularly like the IRB residency rules - I think it should generally be a lot longer than ...

Likely XV: Sheridan Hartley Cole Lawes Palmer Croft Moody Easter Youngs Flood Ashton Hape Tindall Cueto (may have him & Ashton the wrong way around) Foden No surprises, this is a RWC. However, based on who has the "necessary experience" to start an important RWC game (i.e. who has alre...
