Re: PREMIERSHIP ROUND 11

I only hope Tom is watching this as he does have a tendency to come flying into the ruck from a distance to do a clear out

Countdown clock

Yippee - The SA have got this mostly correct. A countdown clock for penalties/conversions is totally correct but not sure about scrums and restarts. They do need to be speeded up but not certain a clock is the best or safest way of doing it. https://rugby365.com/tournaments/super-rugby/news-super-ru...

Re: Jumping to catch the ball

Don't like the law, never will however it is applied. If I am running to catch the ball and an opponent is doing the same, he jumps before me and is in the air, how the hell can I watch the ball and avoid him in the process. If he jumps and contacts my head - does he get sent off? No, do I get sent ...

Re: PREMIERSHIP ROUND 10

I think that we all have to accept that the game is not the one I used to play 25 years ago in almost every respect. WB was absolutely correct in his decisions regarding the reds by the current laws and instructions. Years ago it would not have even been a penalty but in today's game you cannot elbo...

Re: Tom and Scott loan Tigers money

There is only one thing to say to these two - THANK YOU! Any business needs cash flow in order to survive and pay bills and staff and these two have enabled LTRUFC to do exactly that. I do not care if they make a bit of profit as that will mean that the club is back in profit and operating normally.

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

Well that's a surprise - Martin called up to the England squad - are we that short of back row/2nd row that we have to choose a youngster who is not certain to get into our 1st 15?? He is a brilliant prospect but not sure about this but congrats to the lad - well done

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

Am I right in saying that most six nations teams have let their players go and play for their club this week? If so have England done the same? I know it usually doesn’t happen but does anyone know if we may have the England boys this week? France certainly have not let their players go back, neith...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back

Would I like to see Kruis in a Tigers shirt - Yes. Would we get "value for money"? probably not as the only lock in the current England squad he would not displace is Itoje. He is 30 and a better lock than Hill, Ewels, or Lawes so I would imagine would go straight back into the squad. For me, it is ...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

I agree with selecting our most attacking side but as we don't know the injury situation nor the passport situation of several players it does make life difficult to appear informed. Forgetting all that I believe our best 23 for this game are the following De Bruin Montoya Cole Martin Lavannini Lieb...

Re: Away vs Quins Sat 13th Feb

Let's just concentrate on the positives for a minute. This season we have seen that we have 2 youngsters who I hope will be with us for many years - JVP and Steward and several who are very very close to very important to us - Martin, Kelly, Henderson, and Chessum. I was impressed by Martin's perfor...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

London Irish agree extension with Creevy : https://www.rugbypass.com/news/agustin-creevy-extends-his-short-term-deal-at-london-irish/ Good piece of business. IF he has got this one right (not often I know) then it could lead to more speculation that Freddie Burns is on his way back to us. He refers...

Re: Tigers vs Worcester - Sat 06 Feb 1500

Totally agree about Montoya - is a must-be 1st choice for me, well backed up by Tom for this and next season which I hope will be his benefit year. As for the rest of the game - line out = very good, Maul = superb, scrum = ok (didn't lose any but no real domination either) - Halfbacks = much better,...
