Re: Dave Denton Announces Retirement

I too am sorry he has had to retire. Really bad luck to get a career ending injury from a nothing sort of collision.
Good luck in the future David, you weren't a Tiger long but you made a great impression.

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

I have always looked upon our family club status as something to be proud of, likewise our careful accounting. One thing you can be sure of, big money coming into the game will change it beyond all recognition. I can see the EPL following Wendyball so that 90% of players will be from overseas. To th...

You will just have to take my word for it. I have no reason to lie. 60 years involved with rugby, playing and administration.

Re: London Irish: an immorality tale?

Out of order? You may think so in your sheltered suburban set but you are certainly not of the contemporary world. The kind of high jinks I am referring to, definitely still goes on and much closer to home than you think. The fact that the lads don't broadcast it may be fooling you but I can assure ...

Re: Tigers vs Bath

LE18 has kindly posted to correct my spelling mistake. I don't do that sort of thing anymore as spelling correctors and predictive texting occasionally embarrass us all. I have to smack my hand when people post "of" instead of "have". But if it makes you feel better??

Re: London Irish: an immorality tale?

The bottom line is, how well does he play rugby? Not a week goes by when someone on here is pleading for the club to sign some hard nut enforcers. Something I agree with but they will certainly not be choirboys or youth club leaders. They will also play hard off the field. Yes, I have toured with so...

Re: London Irish: an immorality tale?

This theme is utter :censored:. Some people are living in cloud cuckoo land. Have you ever played the game or been on tour? From the snowflake comments being posted I seriously doubt it Rugby players are picked for their ability to play rugby not as seminarians or youth club leaders. They are young,...

Re: Tigers vs Bath

How could Tigers v Bath not be meaningful? We played for the best part of a century with nothing more at stake than pride.

Hopefully, both teams will play an open and expansive game to the enjoyment of all.

Re: ALLEN JOINS COVENTRY

I am sorry to see him go. I have known him for years and he is without doubt a great chap. I can never forget the time he was knocked out against Bath and a fight kicked off . He was stretchered off, much to the distress of all. That he retired too early as a player is cause for great regret as he m...

Re: London Irish: an immorality tale?

For me the term "yes, I know he was controversially found not guilty" says it all. I was not in court to listen to the evidence or hear council for and against the defendants and I submit that anyone who did not have the benefit of said proceedings is in no position to pronounce on them. The jury, w...

Re: Now that Falcons are down............

They would not be joining Tigers now. They would be joining when the new players are here and the ten or so players we are missing through injury have recovered.

Now that Falcons are down............

Like many I am sad to see Deano and his team go down but their misfortune will cause most Premiership Clubs to look strongly at their players. Yes this may be construed as indecent haste but you can be sure others will be in there like a shot. As well as Callum Green coming home I would love to see ...

Re: Quins vs Tigers

Am I the only one to see Quins off-side most of the second half but Sir only started to ping them for it in the last couple of minutes? He only seemed to spot our forward passed but let quite a few blatant FP's go for them.

While admitting our bias, we all commented at the same time in our house.

Re: Les Cusworth post match interview

Les was a great player but he hasn't done much as a coach. I have memories of a chat with him at Twickenham when he was involved with England. I asked him how likely it was for the Tigers front row (aka ABC club) all playing for England. "No chance" said he, "It will never happen". How wrong could h...

Re: Dear Murphs

Noname wrote Sadly very few of our current team are prepared to put their body on the line and we are top of the table when it comes to missed tackles. That is because they saw what happened to people like Lewis Moody who did just that. The "do or die for the team" ended then. The team spirit and et...
