Re: Rugby players to sue for brain damage!
I know some people on here don't like the NFL but they they are way ahead of Rugby in the study of CTE (mainly due to multi million dollar lawsuits.) Here is an article I found interesting saying that it is repetitive blows to the head not just 1 knockout concussion "the pain you feel is not necessa...

Re: Rugby players to sue for brain damage!
The NFL introduced a law in 2018 preventing Running Backs lowering the crown of their head when going into contact. You regularly see rugby players lowering their heads into contact, especially near the try line. How can you tackle someone when their heads are at knee height? Plus as anyone who wat...

Re: Tigers v Chiefs
I like Rob Baxter and his honesty and he is obviously going to try and defend his player. However the statement the player and Rob gave at the hearing is absolute 'Jackanory'. Apparently he approached the ruck correctly, it was just unfortunate that he was going a little bit too fast and the Leicest...

Re: McGinity off
Also Ellis Genge, Ford and Ben Young all said that working with Borthwick was a major factor in resigning and I'm pretty sure Wigglesworth signed because of Borthwick and not Mcginity!!! You can see a fish in the water, but you still have to catch it. Who better to sell a clubs vision than the head...

Re: McGinity off
Does anybody know first hand that McGinity was doing such an amazing job??? Agreed our recruitment has improved but it couldn't have got any worse.. .. Steve Borthwick previous role was to watch hours and hours of international club rugby to study Englands opposition players. Taufua, Liebenberg and ...

Re: Tigers v Chiefs
Is Steve Borthwick spouting out the same old clichés and excuses or a consistent message which he unquestioningly believes and more importantly, so do the players?
Just because other people have said the same thing and failed doesn't mean it isn't the right approach.

Re: Role of the TMO
Perhaps similar to Tennis and American Football each team could get a couple of reviews to challenge a call?
Pivac could have used his challenge for the Biggar tackle and we could have used a challenge for the no arms tackle on Taufua.
2 each per game wouldn't hold things up too much.

Role of the TMO
World Rugby TMO global trial protocol 2019. Guiding Principles Any relevant information must be clear and obvious and in the context of materiality. The application of the TMO system must be credible and consistent. I have absolutely no issue with the standard of refereeing at the weekend but what i...

If I buy a copy of the Northampton Chronicle to line the bottom of my birdcage, according to Tom Vickers, that entitles me to know his medical details and why he has been passed over for promotion.

My opinion of Austin Healey is eloquently expressed by this quote from Thomas Sowell, the American Economist....

Re: Geordan Murphy leaves the club!
Sorry but I find all this Tigers should hang their heads in shame, a bit over the top. Large portions of the population are struggling to keep their heads above water, many on zero hour contracts with no guarantee of income week to week. Record numbers of families are relying on food banks so their ...

Re: Legal case with ex-players
A recent article in the Financial Times says the wait for an Employment Tribunal date is up to 2 years, due to a backlog following COVID. Perhaps the celebrity status might speed it up, but I doubt it. If successful the players will only be awarded compensation, not damages and they cannot claim the...

Re: Manu Tuilagi
I think Manu should be cautious about going down the litigation route. In a Guardian article before the World Cup he admitted lieing to the Tigers medical staff about the extent of his groin injury which ultimately led to a 15 month lay off. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/aug/21/england-manu...
