Nick Hornby's 'How to be good' is not at all blokey. In fact it's written from the perspective of a woman. I really enjoyed it.

I think Adel Kardooni is from Iran. I think he went on tour to North America and played for England A. He was a very good player and could, perhaps, have played for England in more enlightened times (not sure the old farts would have taken to selecting an Iranian)
