Re: Saudi Arabia in talks to buy stake in Tigers
When the Club was unsuccessfully 'marketed' pre-Covid, and it was subsequently reported that none of the interested parties values aligned with Tiger's values (they may also have not matched the valuation). So, if anything comes of this reported interest, will the Board maintain this line?

It’s all very silent regarding further recruitment. Little surprised perhaps. Maybe that cap is all spent?

It's been all about the Tigresses this week - maybe it'll be the Tigers next week?

Re: Tigers Coaching Team - 2023/2024 Season
TFS, I don't disagree with your logic and it will obviously be McKellar's call. But, the the 'contact' aspect has become an especially critical part of the game, and given Danny Wilson's success with players like Ben Youngs and others singing his praises, I think it is potentially a role that needs ...

Re: Tigers Coaching Team - 2023/2024 Season
Good luck to Tom Harrison. Five coaches going to the national team is a mighty pill to swallow, but it is interesting that the club announcement states that the club has been aware of this latest one for a while.... and is 'close to finalising the coaching team....'. Not much has been said yet about...

Re: Things we could learn from French rugby?
Thanks for posting. It is an interesting piece, and I am sure there are things to learn, especially around scheduling. But, what the reporter doesn't touch on are two big differences. First, the way that the French second tier is financially supported. I am not sure how/whether this trickles down fu...

Would be very surprised if we hadn’t already signed another prop.

Let's hope so - it might help soften the blow of not re-signing a good player and losing him to a significant rival.

Re: Formerly of this parish
Seems that Bryce Hegarty had a good game for Force in their win against the Highlanders. Playing at 10, he scored the opening try, had 2 conversions and 3 penalties. Horton was playing at hooker, although he became one of 5 players to be given yellow cards by Nic Berry. Freddie Burns came off the be...

Re: Trouble up North at Newcastle Falcons?
It's probably a step too far, but if these rumours are true, I would not be unhappy to see Dave Walder do a 'Mike Blair', revert to attack coach and come to Tigers.

He was only 46.... sad news.
Tom wasn't with the Tigers for too long, but he ranks as one of the many very good 9's to have played for Tigers in recent times.

Re: Board plan additional investment in Tigers
The circular does make for pretty grim reading, and essentially gives no viable alternative other than to vote this through. A couple of points of interest from the circular... The loan facility of up to £6m provided by TS and PT (through their investment companies), is undrawn, and will be withdraw...

Re: Tigers post Borthwick - next Head Coach?
I think Smudge's cynicism is clouding his memory. Yes, as JtG states, Howard and Cocker enjoyed successes. Also, in the professional era, Tigers have at times recruited from outside the club - Dwyer, Llofreda, Meyer, O'Connor, and latterly Borthwick et al, with, at best, mixed results. We will obvio...
