Re: Tigers vs Castres - 20 Sep 20 at 1500

Well, that is pretty much the strongest match-squad we have fit and available, imo.
SB looking for impact from the bench of 'finishers'.

Good for him - was a top player imo.
Maybe one day we'll see him again, who knows?
He certainly is on a good trajectory, coaching-wise.

I get the OP's point, but I am not sure it would make much difference. I might well be missing something here, but it seems that current testing levels are still below capacity according to the government figures - by more than 30,000 a day (for pillar 1&2). Latest figures....https://coronavirus.dat...

England Players Agree to a Salary cut for 1 year

The beeb report that the England squad have agreed to a 25% wage cut for a year owing to the effects of the virus on the game.
So this affects messrs Youngs and Ford,.... oh, and a certain prominent ex-Tiger!

Wayne is in charge

Good news, I think, Wayne Barnes is refereeing the game this weekend. However, not so good news imo, is the tv ref - Rowan Kitt. Rightly or wrongly, tv refs now have a significant influence on games, and we never seem to get the 'rub of the green' with 'Kitty' and his interpretations.Or maybe it's j...

I wonder, does that constitute a record number for a Premiership starting team?

I think they do have at least a couple more not in this match day squad - another du Preez and Wiese

Well the coaches are certainly sticking to squad rotation - 17 changes in the match day squad from Weds. Congrats to Thom Smith at 7 and named as captain - shows a bit of faith! Up against a vastly more experienced Glaws squad. Don't expect any other result than a home win, but the performance is ev...

Re: BT Sport Coverage of Quins vs Sale .... Why Oh Why ?

Whether or not folks consider such issues as political as the OP does, the huge irony here for me is the OP raising the issue of 'politics' in sport by raising it on a forum specifically dedicated to Tigers rugby matters. Why oh why?

Mods, have you considered switching this to the chit chat forum?
