Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

Pure idle speculation here, but has anyone any thoughts as to how they would feel if say Jim Ratcliffe were to bid to buy the club? I have no idea if he has any interest in rugby, but he seems to want to invest heavily in sporting activities - Ben Ainslie's British America's Cup, British Triathlon, ...

Re: Howard to mentor Murphy

Well I am pleased to see these latest appointments. Both Pat Howard and Jan McGinity will add significantly to the group.

Jan McGinity now confirmed. Also a new role for Glynn. www.leicestertigers.com/news/tigers-exp ... d-the-team

Other reports suggest that Ford is also staying, and Pat Howard is to have a 'mentoring role', one week a month, to help Geordan push through the changes he wants to see.

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

[quote=jgriffin post_id=721095 time=1561456902 user_id=9496] Unlike Mrs G's reaction, for me this has been on the cards since Tom Scott took nearly 50% of the shares several years ago. I expected when Mr Scott caught a cold so would Tigers, and thus it has come to pass. Unless we get a Nigel Wray or...

Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

On one level, this seems to be a highly opportunistic move by the Board. The CVC buy-in cash has clearly been the catalyst. It has cleared the company of debt so let's get the thing to the market, take the money, and get out. That's the cycnical view. We will see, I suppose.... In the meantime, I am...

Re: Peter Tom - retirement from Breedon

Yes, I knew that he lived in the Channel Islands (I thought it was Guernsey, but hey, similar). My comments too were partly made 'tongue in cheek', but I do hope that he might choose to put in some more time in with the Tigers Board now. As you say, his experience should certainly help with the deve...

Re: Peter Tom - retirement from Breedon

Sorry PGD, you just beat me to it and my post duplicates yours. I did contact the Mods to suggest they merge the posts into one thread.... It will be interesting to see which way Mr Tom now goes with Tigers. I hope he still has the energy and desire to sort out the current problems, and, as you sugg...

Peter Tom

He has retired as Chairman of The Breedon Group today. Reports state that he is to continue with his role at Tigers. If so, I wonder if he is to devote a little more time and energy into sorting things out? Mind you, at almost 80 years, and having pocketed many more £millions from selling Breedon sh...

Can understand that AA wants more responsibility and experience, but seems a shame to lose him as he seems to be a bright coaching prospect.
