Re: Round 3 - Saracens (H) - Saturday 02nd October 2021
Talk of Nigel Wray points to the fact that the Sunday Telegraph feature writers today must have been taking lessons in irony. Not only does Ian McGeechan worship at the feet of Wray but, irony of irony, Charlie Morgan writes a piece on Calum Clark. The latter is said to be promoting well-being and b...

Interesting (and very fair) report on the Exeter website - amongst other things crediting Kevin Sinfield with our tight defence.

Re: Matt Banahan
Personally I always had a lot of time for Banahan. In the many games he played against Tigers he usually caused us problems, but he was often to be seen chatting to nearby opposition players during breaks in play. They used to be called "sportsmen" - and I think he was.

Rather a sweeping statement. Arrogant ? Is Farrell known to you personally ?
Completely agree. For me Farrell is 50% skill, 50% arrogance. It is amazing how far that arrogance takes him.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
You're right there. For me Murimurivalu isn't a fullback, a winger or a centre; he's simply a rugby player, and a very good one. The way he tackles, immediately jumps to his feet and jackals over the ball puts many number sevens to shame. Exactly the sort of player we need.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
A lot of faith is being placed on the returning Freddie Burns. The fact is that when he left us for Bath he was never able to displace Rhys Priestland as their first choice. Playing in Japan is no preparation for the rigours of a Premiership season. Johnny McPhilips has improved with every game he's...

Re: 7th May - Sale Away
It seems to me that, although we have recruited some top players and there are some very good youngsters coming through, as a team we're not much further forward than we were twelve months ago. The constant emphasis on kicking simply invites the opposition to run the ball back - and there are some v...

Re: Is this season a Farce with the cancellations
To go back to the points-by-panel system currently being applied to Covid-hit games, a team that was unable to play any Premiership games due to Covid would end up with 44 points - more than Tigers ended 2018/19 (the last proper season). It's farcical that a team can be higher in the league by not p...

George Ford played like Joe Ford. Let's say no more about it and hope he's back to normal next time out.........
Bit unfair to Joe I would say. Not the most exciting player, but his kicking out of hand and off the tee was pretty accurate.

Always good to see the pundits proved wrong. Will Greenwood, with his usual Saturday nonsense, actually said that if Leinster had entered a team in the Six Nations they could have won it. Well done Saracens.

Re: Midweek Game - Wed 09 Sep Away to Wasps
I'm not convinced that Borthwick is all he was cracked up to be. A "world-class coach" was in fact a forwards coach under a very strong-minded head coach. It's worth bearing in mind that in his last match with England the pack was out-thought and out-gunned by a Springbok eight who were ve...

Re: Ben Youngs
[ His tactical game tends to be on point for England. We've seen Wigglesworth and Heinz have good careers and be in and around the top table in their early to mid 30s. There's no reason if he keeps working on his game he can't be. At this point only Spencer is realistically challenging him. [/quote]...

Bristol Tiger. Not sure why you think the current shareholders deserve nothing. Many of these shareholders are long-term supporters of the club who just own a few shares from when the PLC was first formed.
