Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Watching the BUCS final: Meredith with a lovely chip for a break and miss pass to assist. Gourlay with a nice dart down the left early on too. Seb Smith with a good carry after a miss throw Exeter line out to give Loughborough a gainline carry and a peach of a line by Chris Preen to score. At centr...

Anyway on to rumours Patrick Pellegrini wouldn't be a bad shout for a Pollard back up IMO. TBH not a name I’m that familiar with. A Tongan international playing for Coventry at the moment? Relatively unknown, even though he went to the RWC with Tonga. Scored a nice try vs the Boks if I remember rig...

Anyway on to rumours Patrick Pellegrini wouldn't be a bad shout for a Pollard back up IMO. Anything in the rumour? If substantiated then would be a good option. Wouldn’t cost the bank, good basics and potentially looking for a springboard to push for further international honours. Aged U25 ? So wou...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

On another note, the more I think about Joe Marchant the more I think he could suit Tigers, both now and how we are likely looking to play moving forward. He is a strong runner, with very good footwork and pace - something we have lacked in the backline in recent seasons. If we are looking to attack...

I know the article was written before Perese signed so he may not now be on the Wallabies radar as much, but interesting to see him being suggested as better suited to 12 rather than 13 for the wallabies moving forward... https://www.rugbypass.com/news/the-five-lost-wallabies-who-could-find-their-be...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Sarries are pretty stacked in the centres now Yeah I don't see him going there now. I wonder if they had a choice between Spink and Marchant and went with Spink. Marchant makes sense if we are losing Porter. If Porter is staying it becomes harder to justify signing him. Perese, Porter and Marchant ...

Marchant would be a cracking signing.

Would go from a lack of 13s to a plethora! Intriguing if we can get Marchant and Simmonds… 👀

That just feels like such a empty bun story. Zero meat in it. Like let's be real a lot of teams are going to be interested in Kelly, until it changes to discussions i'm even bothering giving RIL an impression My take on rumour language in media Interested in = Not even talked too In talks = Agent t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Random thought. If Billy V is moving to Montpellier would it be worth a quiet chat with Sam Simmonds to see if he fancied an England return. Not everyone cup of tea I know but prolific try scorer and invariably gets over the game line Be worth a shout! Plus if we are looking to go with a more mobil...

Has our academy been the worse in terms of wing production? Looking at saints Slightholme, Freeman, Hendy all rapid, We just seem to struggle getting Wingers from academy to first team. Even Simmons wasn't a winger in age grade. Hopefully Satala and Kinder both live up to promise. Think that’s why ...

We won two European finals playing two fullbacks at 14&15. Think we need to stick to Steward and Shillcock together for the rest of the season and probably next. Steward chasing kicks could be a real weapon like Roebuck is for Sale. Hopefully next season Kelly finds his mojo with Perese and pos...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Kelly had his mojo back. In defence I don't think Kelly and Kata work, but in attack tonight it worked really well. Kelly's passing is such a point of difference, if he can bring that next season at 12 with Perese at 13 and Kata off the bench then watch out teams +1 RB. I hope we can find the right...
