Re: Brian Moore Writes in the Telegraph today..
Flankers do tend to be invisible at scrum time these days, I lose count of how many times a number 8 goes to pick up from the back of a driving forward scrum only to get scragged as soon as he touches the ball by the flanker that has stayed still as the rest of their pack went backward.... that assu...

Shane Williams getting taken on the outside just like Habana:

If he could tackle that lad would be fairly useful

Gotta love those two All Blacks capsLongshanks wrote:IMHO one of best signings this fine club of ours has ever made. Sheer rugby class - just as well he isn't English or we'd see much less of him at International time.

Re: England - where now?
The "England need to show flair" brigade might well disagree but the main problem for me with the backs is that there is a complete lack of anyone willing to take the ball up the middle. Cueto tries to come off his wing to help but he's pretty ligtweight. How many times did we see Jonny t...

Re: Yesterday's ref - Christopher Berdos
M. Berdos confirmed my previously expressed view that French refs are indeed the best in the world. Mr.Owens should take note that he used both arms to signal kicks at goal. And that he did not constantly shout "no hands" and "roll away" - he just stuck an arm out! Without a dou...

Re: Wales- France
Game didn't really tell us much we didn't already know... Wales will always put a good period of play together but also give points away through trying to force the game too early. France will likewise look good but are still prone to being... well... french... at times and implode. And they still &...

Re: Englands campaign
It would have been nice to have been able to bring on Floody and Foden, tell them to get the ball :censored: moving, shifted Armitidge to 13 and tell him to stop messing about. Only reason that I wouldn't have taken Armitidge off was because for me Tait was worse. As I get older the % of rubbish tha...

Re: Englands campaign
5 or 6 times England actually ran the ball at pace.... each time they went 60 metres and then failed to support the runner :smt011 Kicking was poor, chasing was awful, often just one man flying up who was either taken out or avoided with ease. D Armitage was just plain awful, he'd take the ball, amb...

Re: England v Italy
I read somewhere today that alot of the squard are poorly with some sort of Virus with both Borthwick and Shaw missing training and Lewis only taking part in light sessions.... although MJ claimed that Lewis was in a non-contact bib to protect everyone else rather than himself

Re: Trips used to be red cards!
We get the same thing every time there is a trip on a player. If it's on purpose then it's dangerous play on a par with spear tackling in the laws of the game so straight red and a fair few weeks ban regardless of the position or situation of play. As usual the ref bottled it and gave a yellow.

Re: england A vs ireland A
It's pretty simple really, the journo's have found the next Charlie Hodgson/Danny Cipriani/Stuart Barnes. Not a bad player in the League? Check. Makes the odd flashy play? Check. Completely unequipped to play the game at international level? Check. He'll spend the next 6-7 years being brought up whe...

Re: I'm starting to feel a little embarrassed
I think my feelings on the matter are similar to alot of Tigers' fans. I feel we were 2nd best on the day. I'd prefer it if the whole thing could be dealt with quickly and withoutgiving every person reason to believe that it's all sour grapes as I feel this reflects badly upon us. Do I think the inc...

Re: Sixteen men on pitch
Byrne was signalling for Parker to get off the pitch. As far as he was concerned, it was he (Byrne) that should be on, not Parker - so all the "he knew he was there illegally" business is fundamentally flawed. [/quote] Assuming knowledge of the rules Byrne did indeed know that he himself w...
