Re: The Championship - Week 1

My local Div 1 club (Esher) got relegated when the Championship was formed :smt009

They did start the season with a 148-0 victory of Mancester though!

Re: New EPS and Saxons

Surely, rather than it being favouritism, Johnno is picking on form. As we reached two major finals (and won one) the players must have been doing something right and deserve their places.

Not sure how Wilko gets in, has he played ANY rugby in the last 12 months?

Surely the most important question is who won? Did cockers still come last despite Meyer's injury?

From the Times article...

Oct 26: Squads assemble for four internationals at Twickenham.
Nov 8: England v Pacific Islanders.
Nov 15: England v Australia.
Nov 22: England v South Africa.
Nov 29: England v New Zealand.

That's a really long time (5 weekends) to be without all our England players!

Is the money not being split evenly between all the clubs, due to the clubs "unanimously" voting for it?

Meaning Worcester will get the same amount as we do, despite contributing nothing to the Squad

The one major plus you have this weekend is there's no football on so quite a few pubs will probably put it on for you. I was up there for work for 7 weeks recently, I'd suggest you try the following... The Queens Arms on Frederick Street (between George Street and Queens Street). Hidden underground...

Wasps post worrying annual loss (and are after Betsen!)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/may/13/londonwasps.premiership Quite an interesting article, with a lot of info in it Also didn't realise Wasps were after Betsen "...who are close to signing the Biarritz and France flanker Serge Betsen.." An interesting comment at the end too about th...

I agree with SabreTooth, was just about to post the same thing myself. With Fletcher's name being mentioned could that be a reason why Flood and Woods are so keen to come? Catt's name has also been mentioned as a backs coach, and got a fairly positive reception on here, but I seem to remember Irish ...

In the S14 they've been trialing the law that changes all offences to free-kicks, and according to the articles will continue to play with those laws.

Up here in the northern hemisphere we're not trialing those laws.

When it comes to a test between NZ and England which laws do we play with?

What's the situation if Ayerza has to come on as a blood replacement? Would Herring have to go off then too?

No shame in losing to the professional Scottish 7's team

Ben Youngs has looked good throughout, very quick, nice step. Matt Smith also played well.

I'm up in Edinburgh at the mo, got the landlord in the pub to put the BBC on so I could watch the EDF final only to find the 7's was on. Sounds like I was lucky to miss the final!

Tigers looking good, Ulster look quite good too though.
