Re: Tait and Cockers
Cockers gave him time to get fit and relearn the game in one position. That investment paid off.

Re: FT England 38 NZ 21 - you couldn't make it up!
The Irish, Aussie and the Boks have tried the same recipe of keeping ball in hand and smash them upfront against the AB this year. The Irish got within a point, the Aussie a draw and the Boks should have won it had Morne Steyn not been so out of form. The AB truly ran out of luck trying the same for...

Re: This time I really do fear for RC
Flood needs to re learn his kicking game but he is far far from being our worst player. In fact, I'd go as far as saying in the absence of Murphy, we might as well hand him the captaincy so the fly half can at least get the team to do what he wants. You've got to be in denial to say we didn't get ou...

Re: George Ford has hand skills Floody can only dream of?
Flood's overall game is good and perhaps the most balanced among England's ten but his tactical kicking really is bad.

Re: England Centres
U can have a second distributor from 12 (like Barnes or Aaron Mauger)paired with a hard running 13 (like Tana), a hard running 12 (like Jamie Roberts and Nonu) paired with a crafty 13 (like Conrad Smith or BOD). Doesn't matter which way you do it as long as u have the balance in your pairing, whatev...

Re: The problem at Tigers?
I think RC did a good job in the first season he was appointed to the post but then he just struggled to keep up with the game. It's pretty apparent against the Quins, their carrier took one or two defenders with him then tried to wrong foot the defence by moving the ball away. Yes there are risks i...

Re: George Ford
Flood used to be a 12 and that sure will come into the minds of coaches. Problem is whether he's forgotten how to play there.

Re: George Ford
Don't be so grim. Just look at how Tom Youngs is finally cementing himself in the starting XV at the age of 25. Flood is a solid player to have, and quite a hard one to drop. Yes his kicking from hand is at time aimless but otherwise he has a balanced game with good passing off both hands. I'm sure ...

Re: Hats off to Toby
I always think Toby is an all round player, better defence and stronger running than people give him credit for and general good game management all round.
I was very impressed by his distribution. Pretty much every pass he made found a runner at pace.

Mad Dog has been my favourite player since the retirement of Backy. In many respect, I think he has more than taken up the mantle of Backy.

Re: Game Today
I found the game surprisingly exciting despite the try count. We were a little bit headless in the first half (Crane and Castro distributing at the 10 channel says it all) but some tactical play and we slowly got the grip on the game.
Ben Youngs has come a long way this season.

My example when I played in the back row and since still my favourite player after I moved to hooker.
I think he marshaled Bath well in defence.

Re: Olly Barkley
Olly Barkley and Butch James have played some sublime rugby with each other.
Barkley has never played outside a decent 12 at test level: Hogson would simply fold, and Wilko hasn't found anyone compatible with him since Catt retired.

Re: Good win but flat feeling... Times article
I don't think he was overly harsh. Admittedly we have had a slow start to the season.
Besides, I heard that in the S14, the referee are cracking down on players not rolling away in the tackle, which to me is a huge step forward.
Why is it that they always seems to a step ahead of us in the SH?

Re: Ireland team for Saturday
The intellegence of Geordan is so under rated. This will show if we keep kicking aimlessly in the match.
