Re: Tigers vs Gloucester - Teams Up
Wiese 73 meteres 11 carries 6 Defenders beaten 7 Tackles 0 missed Not a bad debut Brilliant stats, and a really impressive debut. What's noticeable to me is that I think he has the potential to be quite a bit more powerful. He has a pretty big frame but not a huge amount of muscle (which he makes u...

Re: Tigers vs Sale - 05 Sep 20
Haven’t posted a ramble on the forum in a long time but frustrated watching and a few beers have led to the below. Sorry in advance. Double apologies if you’ve seen this on the Ultras Facebook group I recently joined. Starting to wonder if they’re all the rugby gurus they proclaim to be given some o...

Re: Has Matt Toomua Played His last Game For Tigers
I think people are reading far too much into it. It’s either later reporting or, when ‘final game’ is mentioned, it is in context to the remainder of the rugby championship- I.e. he has played his last game for Tigers that would keep him away from the Aussie squad for the duration of the competition.

Re: Exeter team
It comes down to two things for me, discipline and physicality (particularly at the breakdown). Discipline because the Chiefs are a team that specialise in grinding teams down and forcing errors rather than carving teams wide open on a regular basis. If we deny them field position, it will take away...

Re: New kits for next season
My bed's fine thanks. Memory Foam. My underlying point of that of visibility. Perhaps you have 20/20 vision? Not everyone does, but can still see. Near-black against a near-black background does not make for clarity, especially in the dark, with spotlights; rain makes it worse. In my own world I ha...

Re: Pitches
Mark62 I’ve played on both types of pitches, natural and 4G. I would say that 4G feels a bit quicker but for welfare, in my view, it is a big no no. Firstly, the ‘burns’ and cuts you get are twice as bad as on a normal pitch. Trying to put on any clothing on the affected areas was agony for days aft...

Re: Exeter team
Am I alone in forecasting a narrow victory for Tigers? I also forecast that should we win and score three tries someone on here will be complaining that we have once again failed to secure a try bonus point. I don’t think we’ll win but I suspect it may be closer than people are guessing! Exeter awa...

Re: Final Preseason Game vs London Irish
The back line looks exciting again - although like most here I would have Holmes ahead of Thommo. The pack, to be honest, worries me a bit. Ma'afu has not looked up to scratch and not a word on Bateman yet. We are also horribly light in the second and back rows - only Mike Williams and Tino providin...

Re: 2018-19 squad
Of course they're classed as backs! No one is talking about "backs". I have long been concerned about the lack of attacking centres. If any of our better centres is injured, it has a devastating effect on our attacking capabilities. My comment was based upon the club's own designation of the positi...

Re: New kits for next season
Big fan. Traditional-ish style on the home shirts with a bit of subtle embellishment (the Tiger stripes). Favourite one for a while.
Away shirt is decent, perhaps a bit bland even with the purple, but better than some of the more recent shockers!

Re: Tom Hardwick - 1st Team
BFG - Amazing how two people can see pretty different games! I thought that were two 10 minute periods (in the first half) where the Pumas looked untouchable, but aside from that England looked comfortable and only really let themselves down with mistakes. Perhaps to be expected in the first game of...

Re: Logo
The key question is will he be moving up north with the family? I'd have hoped that we'd have signed up those twin boys he had with Castro's sister on contracts already but otherwise it would be good to keep them on the Academy radar for 13 years time or so! I seem to recall that Cockers was actuall...

Re: George Fords place kicking
As has been mentioned, Ford's kicking for us has - this season - been largely very, very good. He is having a slight dip at the moment which is normal but most of the time he has been very reliable in an area which I admit I was concerned about. I think the lack of distance theory is also a myth - I...

As tempting as it is to risk my personal safety, it’s the terraces behind the sticks. Much safer.
