so which Prop can play both sides? I count 3 looseheads and only 2 tightheads

A little surprised no Dan Robson wasn't that impressed with Heinz yesterday
2 tightheads and 2 scrummies is a big risk. Agree on Heinz/ Robson.

Re: England v Wales

Willi Heinz as vice captain on his debut? I really think Jones tries to be too clever sometimes.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

Update: Chris Jones replies "My understanding is Murphy as DOR/HC, with Ford (attack), Bakewell (forwards), Blake (defence) plus Deacon & Stankovich, with Pat Howard playing the Brendan Venter role... hope that clears it up" So...Blake and Bakewell remain - contrary to many hopes and, indeed, expec...

My bad, I forgot about Lavanini. I didn't include Liebenberg because, as far as I know, he hasn't been announced officially yet.

Hopefully they are significant upgrades. They're going to need to be.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

I know I'll get shot down for being negative here but I'm a little concerned that, other than Taufua, Green and Taute (who by all accounts isn't quite the player he was) we are signing a lot of players who are second choice at their clubs. I appreciate that they might be promising young players stuc...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

Gustard won’t win anything, neither will Ackerman...serial runner-up. Boyd though.... I'd love to know what you're basing this on. Ackermann and Gustard both have better rugby CVs than Baxter and McCall when they first arrived in the Prem and have made more progress in less time. I’m basing it on w...

Doesn't look like it, haven't done the usual clock image or popcorn with some token '...'

We're probably about 9 players short still so you'd think we'd be getting a move on.
Agreed. Particularly as we enter the back end of June. It's a bit concerning.

Re: England XV v Barbarians

Other than a shaky first couple of touches, I thought White did alright actually. In other news, what a couple of players Quins have in Smith and Dombrandt. I thought Smith would be too lightweight for international rugby but the kid is such a clever player. Dombrandt is a brute and made some huge c...

Re: Weekend match thread - 31st May 2019

It's not boring but Barnes refereeing of the breakdown is poor, anything goes and especially Exeter launching like missiles! I'd agree with this. I really rate Barnes but he's not been his usual impeccable self today. I also think Sarries are tackling very high to try and stop Exeter's attacks. The...

Re: Weekend match thread - 31st May 2019

Nowell has been electric ball in hand. Also would have Ewers and Devoto in the England set up on current form. Huge Nowell fan, so, powerful through his legs, would have him on the other wing to May On this form you simply can’t leave him out! Has looked great at fullback to be fair. Nowell is a su...

Re: Weekend match thread - 31st May 2019

What a cracking final so far. Come on Exeter! Ewers and Armand have been excellent so far, get them in that squad. Wouldn't be a bad thing for England to be able to switch to the Exeter way of playing every now and again. Would certainly have been useful when the floodgates started opening vs Scotla...

Re: Spencer and White for England

It's just called using my eyes and seeing his poor work under the high ball, his weak defending and the fact that I've never saw an international back get turned over as much! I usually agree with you Scott but I think your views are a few years out of date. Those things were true of Goode but the g...
