Re: NZ's amazing try v France

There are numerous occasions when the TMO gets it wrong including in the Lions game today where the TMO by his reasoning for not giving a forward pass (The players hands didn't move forward) showed that he did not know the laws of the game. A very brief guest appearance, but I noticed this error in...

Re: Fed up with the petty squabbling

Lapsed poster and occasional lurker here. As others have observed, hoping for some kind of messageboard utopia is unrealistic. In life one meets the (subjectively) intelligent, generous and interesting, just as we meet the unintelligent, spiteful and dull. It hardly goes without saying that all are ...

Re: Well played Wales - Is this a start of a golden era?

If it's great to win 3 Slams in 8 years (Wales) and England had their golden era in 2003 it means I'm confused about what really constitutes a golden era. Yes we blew a few slams in the years before 2003 but we were hugely consistent. The only year between 1990 and 2003 in which we lost more than a...

Tiglon wrote:Well done to them on another Grand Slam... but Golden Era? Isn't that just media bull****? We've heard it all before.
Perhaps a definition of 'Golden Era' needs to be agreed.

Wales have certainly been more succesful then Ireland's 'Golden Generation'.

Re: Was Hartley up to an old (and distasteful) trick?

Alleged bite on Ferris at around 27:20.

I think the three nearest England players were Hartley, Parling and Barritt. There is clearly an altercation, but nothing else to be seen on the main feed.

Re: Well played Wales - Is this a start of a golden era?

Grand slams in 2005, 2008 and 2012.
Winners of three of the last five slams.
England, by contrast, have failed to win a slam since the RWC.

Clearly a flash in the pan.

Re: Leicester v Clermont Auvergne

Unless we win at Ravenhill then this is the likely final table and it will be bye, bye to Europe for this season: Clermont: 20 points Ulster: 19 points Leicester: 18 points Oh, yesterday was the first of three must-win games. 5 points is unrealistic, but 4 points in round 5 is essential to progress.

Re: Leicester v Clermont Auvergne

Two five point wins will leave us top, even a four and five win should see us qualify for the quarter finals.By the time the next rounds come we will have injured players back. Keep the faith, after all it is only a game and we should not allow the result of a rugby match, spoil a good day out 5 poi...

I was at the game today and reading the forum, im pinching myself to think was i watching a different game to some of you! OK first half wasnt great, but i loved the 2nd half. Re: WC Refereeing.

Bill, you have chosen to prioritise. You have elected to apply a free kick ahead of the multiple penalty offences, two of which may potentially have associated safety issues. You have chosen to have your cake and eat it; penalising one offence whilst lecturing players and captains to cover off concu...

Re: WC Refereeing.

Given that many of these events were concurrent, why have you chosen to prioritise the feed? Particularly as the binding issues were potentially dangerous.

Re: WC Refereeing.

Re the scrum: LH slips his bind, which may or may not be due to the THs illegal bind, all of which occurs as the SH gives a squint feed and the defensive line stands 0.5m offside.

Your decision? Given that you do not prioritise or ignore any offences.

Re: WC Refereeing.

Given that there are multiple (both concurrent and bang-bang) offences at every breakdown and set-piece, which offence would you care to ping first?
