Re: 3rd January 2021 v Bath

That Barnes is by far the best ref in the England shows how utterly poor the standard of refereeing is.

Re: How times have changed..

I, maybe for one, am very happy that I played rugby from 80s until 00s, because I would not enjoy it as much now, despite the lower risk of injury with the modern rules. I did get injured a lot, but I wouldn't have changed this because I loved playing the game then. Currently IMHO, there are way too...

Re: What do you want on match day?

The only thing which I would enjoy other than rugby is the egging and feathering of anybody doing "pre-match entertainment" including fire-throwers and fireworks and loud / annoying commentators (eg Bath / Wasps).

Re: Tigers v Wasps

Even before the game went soft, kicking somebody in the head would get you sent off. Unbelievably poor refereeing once again.

Re: What gets your goat in the rugby of today?

1. Overuse of cards. People want to see and play in a 15 man game. 2. The law applied to "deliberate knock-on" (also see 1.) 3. The new high tackle laws. I know it is to "protect the players", but I am so glad I played under the less pansy laws. Soon, punching to the face will be banned in boxing. Y...

Re: Murphy appointed head coach

The last time we won anything IIRC, albeit the Mickey Mouse, GM was acting head coach. That must mean "something". He has my full backing.

May deliberate knock on. 2nd yellow = red. 11 minutes, 9 points and down to 14. I think that's game over.
That's me done with a 38 year passion for rugby. The modern rules have ruined the game. This was the last little straw. It is all just pathetic.

Re: Manu cited....

Just seen on Twitter Manu has been cited for a dangerous tackle on Chris Cloete Hearing tomorrow This is a complete farce and proof that the citing commissioners are completely incompetent, together with a number of referees [directives of World Rugby] I am not blaming the referee for the loss at t...

Re: 5 Reasons To Be Positive

On paper we have a superb side. I just hope we can see it on grass soon.

For this weekend, I would settle for a good performance. The way i feel at the moment, a win would be a bonus. Glaws are looking quite strong (so far) this year and should not be underestimated, even at Welford Road.

Re: Saints Away

One of the things worrying me the most is MoC saying things like "early days" and "nothing is won in September". I cannot stand what seems to be not far from apothy. I miss Cockers telling the truth. This was absolute borvial stools. No cohesion. No pride. The whole team need to become Tigers again....

Re: Manu sent home

Eddie Jones is a complete hypocrite, he turns a blind eye to someone who has been banned many times for an accumulation of some 13 months due to offences committed on the pitch and sends someone home for drinking once whilst off the pitch due to so called " cultural issues" . Could not agree more.

Re: Manu sent home

If it's alcohol related, then it's disgraceful, in my opinion. Professional sportsman, given an opportunity to train with the elite, and this is how he shows how grateful he is? :smt013 Absolutely disgraceful - a rugby player drinking beer. Whatever next, a cricketer drinking cider? The shame of it...

Re: Leicester Tigers 2017/18 Squad/Transfers/Contract thread!

My bones are telling me this morning's announcements were made ahead of schedule - it can be no coincidence that it happened just minutes before the Manu story broke. So, imho of course, it remains possible (outside chance only) that there will be further SH related signings Completely agree. As wi...

Re: Manu sent home

'Team culture issues' apparently. Manu has obviously cleared him up. Prefer to have him here anyway. Although disappointing for Manu, I am personally glad he is playing for the Tigers, not England. When reading the article, I had thought that England had wrecked him again (injured). I would love a ...
