Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) 22nd March 19.45 THE REVENGE
I like the team, but would give Cole and Reffell an extra week as they will be knackered following big games. And I would drop Pollard. We'd drop any other player who was in this form so I think it sets a bad example to keep starting him no matter what. Steward Kata Scott Kelly Hassell-Collins Shill...

Re: Tigers v Quins (A) - Premiership - Friday 26th January 2024 - KO- 19:45
It’s so annoying when any club loses their best 2 players in a position to England and unlucky to have the 3rd get injured in the last few minutes of the Leinster game. Thinking back to the Saracens’ game a few weeks ago when they had 1st and 2nd choice props missing and Tigers smashed their way to...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - Crocodile McKeller: Men at Work
I don’t think he’s been mentioned by anyone and I don’t know his contract status, but what about someone like Thomas Gallo? Strong Puma LH, good in the tight and scrum but also a carrier around the park? Decent age profile and maybe not starting as much for Benetton? Being a strong test LH but mayb...

Re: We need to talk about Handré
We should back him, he is class - is DMK though? Better squad than last year, results going backwards This is wrong on both fronts: 1 - we were missing all of our best players at the beginning of the season because of the RWC, plus we lost Potter/West/Ashton between seasons, and we've had some of o...

Re: Tigers v Quins (H) - Premiership - Saturday 11th November 2023 KO: 15:05
We are second to bottom of the table and we desperately need points or it becomes a season horriblus. We are actually doing better than last season for the equivalent games. We've just had a bad fixture list for the first few games plus missing 12-14 players. There's still a core of 5-10 players pl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
Back 3 & Centre Options: (some of the younger Dev players like Loose & Daniels I don't think are ready to be called options for the first team yet...) 12: Kelly, Porter, Scott, Gopperth, Cokanasiga, Woodward 13: Porter, Scott, Potter, Cokanasiga, Cusick Wing: OHC, Potter, Bassett, Simmons, ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season
West and Henderson are quality and we should move heaven and earth to keep them. That might mean losing Van Wyk and Green, but that's probably the right call given their respective ages. I would like to keep Nephi and Snyman but with Whitcombe and Lewis Chessum there is a bit of quality still coming...

Re: Tigers v London Irish (H] - Sunday 27th November 2022 KO 3pm
Hmm... I think there are a few players (Burns, Potter, Ashton) quite lucky to have kept their places, despite indifferent form. Think this is really unfair. Burns has struggled but the whole team has, and he's been one of the backs actively trying to create chances. It may not all be stardust but h...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns
I guess at least 10 games, but probably more like 12-14 given Ford’s absences. He would offer something different and he does play off the cuff but I see no reason why he cannot thrive with a good pack in front of him. The lack of support for Ford on here has been very depressing to read. All very ...

Re: Tigers vs Falcons - 28th March 2021 at 15:00
Either way, I don't see much reason to play Ford or Youngs - they've played a lot of rugby and a week off for them will be massive. Genge will almost certainly be cited because the elbow clip is all over social media, and so we shouldn't bank on his return. Martin will be on a high after getting a r...

Re: Sat 20th March - Exeter away
I think SB will rest a few players. There has been a pattern like that. It would be fantastic to get George Martin back early but would also be a shame for him on a personal level to miss the game and match day experience that he will also gain from massively. He appears to be a modest and level-he...

Re: Sat 20th March - Exeter away
I'd go with a big team, and solid replacements who can keep up the physicality. Assuming all our injuries are still injured (including Scott, but he comes straight in at 12 if fit): 1 Nephi 2 Youngs 3 Cole 4 Lavanini 5 Green 6 Liebenberg 7 Wallace 8 Brink 9 JvP 10 Henry 11 Murimurivalu 12 Kelly 13 M...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
I think the squad is in a really good place for next season. Only possible exceptions are: Prop We're probably a body short if De Bruin goes. Think this is solved if Venter joins, especially as Whitcombe looked good yesterday. Venter is now confirmed to Edinburgh, though Van Wyk from Saints is supp...

Re: BRISTOL vs TIGERS - Sat 27 Feb 21 (1300)
This is an interesting one. Realistically we're losing two of our three biggest ball carriers and we need to make up for that somehow. We're also playing one of the fastest teams in the league. So I think bringing in Nephi and Heyes makes a lot of sense. I do think our maul will suffer as a result. ...
