Re: Tigers vs Quins - 04 Oct 20 15:00

Van Wyk was fine, he man marked Earle and came off his wing well to tackle him and generally his positioning was decent. He could have done better with that finish but it's hard coming into a new team. I'm not sure it's fair to call his SR tries walk-ins, it's more that he's a great finisher and mak...

Re: Tigers vs Quins - 04 Oct 20 15:00

Given injuries, I wonder about something like: 15 Freddie Steward 14 Kini Murimurivalu 13 Guy Porter 12 Matt Scott 11 Nemani Nadolo 10 George Ford 9 Ben Youngs 1 Ellis Genge 2 Tom Youngs (c) 3 Dan Cole 4 Blake Enever 5 Calum Green 6 Luke Wallace 7 Tommy Reffell 8 Hanro Liebenberg Replacements: 16 Ch...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

Do we know if Enever is fit? My team would be: 15) Steward 14) Van Wyk 13) Forsyth 12) Porter 11) Williams 10) Henry 9) White 8) Coughlan 7) Wallace 6) Smith 5) Henderson 4) Enever 3) Leitigaga 2) Mamukashvili 1) Gigena 16) Kerr 17) Bower 18) Heyes 19) Chessum 20) Lewis 21) Simmons 22) Ford 23) Har...

To be honest even if Simmons switched full-time to back 3 we are pretty stocked.

Youngs, White, JvP, Law, Edwards all rated and liked by the coaches. Only question might be if we need an experienced head in there - but I'd imagine that would only be needed as back up to White once Youngs retires.

Ollie Smith was a British and Irish Lion and was about as quick as centres get. Certainly faster than Manu/Slade/Dingwall and most other centres out there at the moment.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

I agree with lots of the above but think there is a chance that Dimen could be ready for more first team rugby. He's 21 now, older than Cole was when he started playing first team rugby, and he is by all accounts a massive unit. I think we could easily get away with him in 2020/21 at 4th choice TH (...

Re: Kobus Van Wyk

He can play centre, yes. But I wouldn't start him there vs Castres when he's not even been in the country a week.

I'd play him on the wing vs Bristol, with Potter or Williams on the other wing (and a Porter/Forsyth) centre combination.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

Some seem very quick to dismiss the abilities and potential of young players. Hardwick is twentyone years old, he had several very good matches for us earlier this season and his composure kicking off the tee won a few matches for us. He is not George Ford, in fact I see him more as a 12 than a 10....

Re: Best Tigers lineup (Since the Restart)

This is a good team! I think that Cole has been better than Genge, so I would have Nephi at LHP (although not sure Heyes has been brilliant). I also think Clare has been better than Kerr, and personally that Liebenberg has been better than Taufua. Taufua is a brilliant player but he still gives awa...

Re: London irish

There's no right answers with selection at the moment. I think as a principle you don't want anyone involved in all 4 of this 'block' (Exeter to Glocs); you don't want anyone starting two games in a row or starting one and benching the other, as an injury means that suddenly they're playing 80 minu...

Re: London Irish

Yes, although LI put out a strong team against Saints on Saturday and so will have to rotate a bit vs us. Hopefully SOB plays as that would be good to see. I think Naholo is still injured. Most of TBC, OHC, Loader, Cowan, and Jackson will need to be rested. Suspect we're partly locked into having an...

These Premiership matches are effectively a pre-season.
I'd start Henry at 10 and Steward at 15 behind a strong pack including Leatigaga and see what occurs.
I agree with the idea but don't think you can ask Henry to start on Wednesday when he just did 80 minutes yesterday.
