Re: Steve Borthwick - Lions
He would have been a great forwards coach with the Lions, teamed with Toony as backs coach and Edwards on defence However the first line of “The Statement “ is “Club First!” Here the man living and breathing that and by example from the top .. Good man Steve .. You are the best thing that has happen...

Re: Who’s your pick for Lions 2021
Good to see a former Tigers academy man get on so many peoples starting team sheet.
On ItVs highlights programs, Ugo, Maggie and BOD all picked Hamish Watson also... shame we not able to keep him, he could have been the new Neil Back for many years!

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
France need to score a big points difference and Scotland thrive when the game structure breaks down so there is the potential for an electric match!
So unless France just decide to grind out a victory through a bullying mauling method I think we could be up for some fun

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
Scotland’s deal with premiership was limited to a number. Therefore Maitland has had to be dropped. That’s a real shame because he has played very well This season.

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
I think the outcome of the final game, and therefore the championship, will surely depend on the team that Scotland can or are allowed to field. Without Finn Russell or Adam Hastings things are made more difficult when you consider they may be denied all players not home based. With an already deple...

Re: Gloucester away Sat 13th March
Re the Eales kicking point, I have to agree, where have all the kicking forwards gone? We need more like Eales , Allan Martin, John Taylor, Peter Brown and dare I say Jordan Crane 🤣 Big lads should have big heafty boots I think all should be encouraged at a young age to try for the posts in training...

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021
I don’t think it’s the case that Scotland get up for England. Scotland have limited resources and therefore need as many of the top 20 odd players available as possible. Against England they were without top 2 hookers and Hastings and G Horne but otherwise looking fairly good for missing players. Th...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE V: Borthwick Strikes Back
Marfo was a good player and particularly good scrummager when he played for Scotland but then sadly got injured. Not seen him since so not sure how he is after recovering from that injury but hopefully he can get back to that form if he gets the game time

Re: Has Rugby Got a Fan Problem?
There are always fools who say foolish things especially on social media and I dare say a few of them get involved in rugby. I’ve watched rugby all over the place since finishing playing and generally find all rugby fans great fun. I can only remember two incidents in decades of support.. one was a ...

Re: Tom and Scott loan Tigers money
Whilst it is good that these backers have put money in to tide the club over the worst effects of Covid, it also now makes sense why they stopped the ongoing payments of season ticket holders and shovelled it into next seasons payments for actual tickets. Clearly they could not have continued to tak...

Re: Jumping to catch the ball
Actually just looked at that several times again and the thing that is very striking in this particular instance is how late it is that basset jumps. As Hanro is looking at the ball the mitigation should be nothing to do with how the guy lands but can he realistically expected him to have jumped so ...

Re: Jumping to catch the ball
You can start with the leading with knees or studs. If you enforce the illegality of that every time then these flying incidents will reduce. This is because you will never get as high and also the players on the floor may not have the automatic reaction of protecting themselves with hands over head...
