Re: Uncontested scrums

Having played all positions in the front row , in my day, for over 30 years I think it is easier to interchange Tight Head and hooker than it is to interchange either Hooker and Tight Head with Loose Head. I started at hooker and moved to TH as I got heavier. I always had no problem moving back to H...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

If there had been no wage cup, for all these years, several premiership clubs would have been busy years ago. Tigers accepted the cap when we were comparatively rich because we recognised that we would have been league title holder against nobody. Then the rich owners came in and flouted the laws wh...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Saracens gross breach of Salary artificially drove the wage inflation. The authorities failure to deal with it for years drove many on the clubs close to breaking point. Covid pushed them over the edge. The re balancing that has been required to put the books straight is painful but necessary. Many ...

Re: Simon Cohen leaves with immediate effect

The revolving door nature of coaching and management appointments in recent years leading to the downward spiral of the clubs fortunes, can only be tolerated for so long before someone in a senior position has to accept responsibility. Add to that the rather top heavy nature of that management struc...

Re: Mike Biggar

Yep .. Mike was one of those folically challenged gentlemen much like myself ... and he used to look about 50 when he was playing and was probably in his late 20s or early 30s. Good honest back row forward.

Mike Biggar

For those of you old enough to remember Mike Biggar, who played for London Scottish and Scotland throughout much of the 1970s, you may be interested in his current challenge. Mike (now in his 70s) was involved in a very serious car accident in the 1990s which after several weeks in a coma left him w...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

My thoughts are this: It is irrelevant what Wray or Genge (both vested interests) think about the idea of a salary cap. everyone knew and have known for years the system we are playing under. We can argue in the future about the merits or demerits of the cap and decide how to go forward in the best ...

Re: Dave Denton Announces Retirement

Big loss to Tigers and Scotland

Neither team had the same go forward drive since his injury

I sincerely wish Dave all the best for the future and hope he can find a suitable replacement career

Re: Thoughts & conclusions on the season.

I don’t think it helped that the good new signings... Spencer ... got himself banned ... Denton .. Got injured for a long time. Added to that Genge was off at the same time and then Bateman meant that we were shorn of of decent ball carriers for large chunks of the season. With no go forward ball th...
